Deserters

After two years of supporting their mutual songwriting habit with a procession of banal jobs that included ample doses of dog walking and focus groups, childhood friends Jake Anderson and Bobby Lord will release their debut album as Deserters in the Spring of 2012. After a chance meeting, Wilco’s Pat Sansone, along with coproducer Josh Shapera were impressed by the songwriting of the young duo and took on the project. Recorded during the summer of 2011 in Chicago, the result is a collection of shimmering pop beauty that draws from the lush exuberance of Phoenix and the agile melodicism of The Shins in equal measure.
