“You gotta love what you do”…their motto that transcends meaning for hip hop group D.E.S.I.L ENTERTAINMENT. With all the qualities and experience they possess, the group undoubtedly has captivated the members of the underground hip-hop community through their creative and mesmerizing rap tunes.

Founded by hip hop lyricist, Tizik (born as Marlon Laban on December 7, 1981), the formation of D.E.S.I.L ENTERTAINMENT commenced in 2000 when his undeniable and unwavering love for the music gave him the idea of creating a collage of hip hop artists comprised of a few of his friends. Before long, the idea dismantled, proving too difficult to coordinate the schedules of the various members.

More determined and motivated than ever, Tizik joined forces with his long-time, childhood friend and hip hop lyricist Tinstarr (born as Richie Beadle on November 25, 1981), who was an original member of D.E.S.I.L ENTERTAINMENT and also shared the same ceaseless passion for the music. They decided to keep the group name D.E.S.I.L ENTERTAINMENT given that it best described who they were as hip hop artists.

A powerful hip hop group began to emerge as Tizik and Tinstarr went from freestyling on the street corners to writing and producing their own hit tracks in the studio. Under this group, which stands for Different Energetic Soulz in Life, these two natives of Scarborough, Ontario, started to build their status in the underground community of Toronto, releasing their compilation CD entitled D.E.S.I.L ENTERTAINMENT Compilation CD Vol.1 (2005).

They also released hot and innovative music videos for their fresh tracks, “City of Da Mega” (October 2008) and “Crazee Northside” (February 2009); both of which were recently featured on the renowned hip hop site, hiphopcanada.com. The videos also received rave reviews from viewers on youtube.com/soulzinlifetv, facebook.com, soulzinlife.com, myspace.com/desilenttnt, radio3.cbc.ca and muchmusic.com/showmeyourstv.

Intensely focused on bringing their own particular version of hip hop to the masses, D.E.S.I.L ENTERTAINMENT has made dramatic inroads in bringing the genre to a new generation. Utilizing their flair for writing and producing, D.E.S.I.L ENTERTAINMENT is hard at work creating catchy hip hop tracks that deliver positive messages about every day life. While staying true to Canadian hip hop, D.E.S.I.L ENTERTAINMENT’s driving force is to continue to produce timeless hip hop classics that will be heard and appreciated all over the world.
