DE SOTO 'ESPERANDO EL SOL'

De Soto’s Esperando el Sol is the solo project of Patricio De soto, a musician, singer, songwritter from Gran Canaria. This is project with a wide range of pop and rock sounds where, the former leader of first line bands from the Canaries –such as Jezhabel, Señor X and Carne Cruda- embraces other kind of styles.

Esperando el sol (ES3 Records, 2008) is his first release without stridencies, a record where there’s just a worked creative excersice from a songwriter with rock roots who, after years of road, has found his place in the kindest side of music. A cd with 10 songs featuring the caring production of Manolo Guerra, recorded at Duke’s and Wasss Studios, in Gran Canaria, and masterized by Aitor Carrasquedo at Estudios Aeroson, Gipúzcoa. With this album, De Soto extends his musical horizons with a serene and focused speech, directly linked to his reality as a musician. His work has aquired a panoramic dimension which never had in the past.

De Soto is a nowadays lecture of pop and rock, where the artist from Gran Canaria shows his naked emotions, re-addressing the verbal rage for which he is known, and lending his voice to a collection of songs which look for the audience complicity.

'Nadie conoce a nadie', first song, and single of the album, is a willing manifest. The musician, who has leave all the technicisms and visceral manners of his last stage with Care Cruda behind. Nowadays, De Soto shows a simplicity approach, wisely mixed with his strong and powerful way to perform onstage. A step forward, with new attributes, different language, and a new band –featuring first class musicians- which supports him live. The pulse of Manolo Guerra –who also recorded all the guitars, programming and backup vocals- has been decisive in the way Esperando el Sol has been developed. He has been the ultimate responsible for De Soto’s music to be as huge as hisfirst solo release deserved.
