Four budding musicians at Como Secondary College are desperate for attention - literally.
Desperate for Attention are a rock music outfit comprising students Alex Figg, Hana Lee-Smith, Ellenor Pereira and Cody Cork.
No, the rock outfit will make a bid in the finals for one of WA's most prestigious accolades for young performers in the My Big Gig event on September 24.
Front man Alex concedes the group formed after music teacher Kevin Ferguson made the suggestion. "We started with covers as a way to 'click' and know each other's tastes and styles but recently we have begun writing music," Alex said.
"Writing can be hard, and bands tend to underestimate the difference between good and great songs. Although we have the ability, learning to meld with eachother helps get a band enjoying a performance, as well as the crowd."
Alex said the biggest enjoyment of the band was creating music. "Being able to pour out emotion into a song helps keep me sane and I love to eb able to say it in words I have written." - Southern Gazette
Discography
We are unsigned as we are just 15 years of age, but Alex has released, through word of mouth, a two song EP called Goodbye. We have tracks streaming on Myspace and Facebook has gig footage.

Bio
We are all from Perth, Western Australia and we love our music. The band was formed after Alex won his school's talent competition with a rendition of History by Funeral for a Friend and they have improved dramatically over the last few months.
