Destro Destructo (Oldominion/Boom Bap Project)

In the late 90's, after earning a name for himself in Portland OR as a battle mcee and electric perfomer, Destro with fellow Northwest Mcee's Onry, Pale, Sleep, Snafu, and Qwil formed Oldominion. The crew was soon joined by other artist and began making a name for themselves with their unique sound. A few years later, Destro met Karim aka Night Clubba Lang and formed Boom Bap Project. What started as a side project soon propelled these two friends to release their first EP "Circumstance Dictates" and tour the country with Zion I, Foreign Legion and Micronots. With production by Seattle heavyweight producers Jake One, Vitamin D and Mr. Hill, Boom Bap Project began gaining national attention. Boom Bap Project next released "Reprogram" on Rhymesayers Entertainment in 2004 and continued their momentum collaborating with Rakka from Dialated Peoples, Gift of Gab, Lifesavas to deliver a hard hitting full length album. After the release of "Reprogram" Boom Bap Project continued to tour in the US and in Europe. With a high energy live show Boom Bap Project proved they could hold their own sharing the stage with Hip Hop Heavyweights like Hireogliphics, The Roots, Brother Ali and others.
Fast forward to 2010. Destro is set to release his first two solo projects by years end. The first, "Working Progress EP" will be released for free download in mid November and features 7 new songs with production by Mr.Hill, DaIN, PeGee13, Architect and others. Then in December Destro will release his long awaited first full length solo album "ill.ustrated." Featuring guest apperances from Toki Wright(Rhymesayers), Gold(Sand People), IaME(Sandpeople/Oldominion) and other Oldominion crew members, this album delves into social issues, hip hop culture and the every day struggle. Fans of his work with Boom Bap Project and Oldominion will hear something both familiar and new. From discussing the reality of growning up in a single parent household to being a father, this album showcases a man taking life head on and not flinching. Stay tuned!
