Still working on that hot first release.

Toby Foster and Brett Tucker formed Deuces Wild in early 2003. They spent the next year and a half writing songs and developing as musicians, while playing acoustic shows at local coffeehouses. Eventually, they started doing more with electric instruments and played a few shows with Ellen Angelico on guitar and Ben Mueller on drums. In early 2005, the official lineup was decided on. Deuces Wild added Colin Peterik, son of Chicago musician Jim Peterik of the Ides of March, to play keyboard and sing, and Leslie Clarke to sing backup vocals. Colin and Leslie helped to make Deuces Wild complete, and definately add a lot to the music.
So what makes Deuces Wild special? Well, since almost everyone takes a turn singing, it keeps the listener constantly interested, as the band plays through each songwriters' distinctive styles. Toby draws a lot of his influence from folkier artists such as Bob Dylan or Neil Young, while Brett and Ellen write songs more reminiscent of early U2 or Coldplay. Colin, on the other hand, is more influenced by artists such as Talking Heads, Ambulance Ltd., and especially King Crimson. Still, what sets us aside more than anything is our fantastic chemistry, both on and off stage. It's clear when you watch us that we have fun playing our music, and we all believe that that is the most important part of making music - having fun.
