Press Release - Spring 2005:
Deva de Mentia are currently in the studio preparing for the release of their first album, "Catechism", scheduled for a Fall/Winter 2005 release on Voluptuaria Records.
DDM's mix of darkness and light, beauty and pain, and the feelings of loss and love are at the fore-front of all of their songs. Their sense of longing and loveless-ness pulls you into a world you never imagined could exist. A world of magick and mist, where up is down and yesterday is today. A sculpturally brilliant mix of this world and the next - Deva de Mentia manages to keep you enthralled and enticed at the same time. Check out demo tracks from the upcoming album release under the Sonic Bids Audio Files section.

Bio
The Tale of Deva de Mentia
Spawned shortly after the dawn of the millenium of discontent Deva de Mentia have quickly and quietly sought their way. Fascinated with finding a world
where beauty, darkness, fear and dreams could musically coexist they forged a sound and an atmosphere that was unmistakably theirs. A haunt of promise and pain, terror and exstasy, - of angels and demons. A poisonously seductive universe of sonic splendor.
Chantuese Raine Marlowe Graves and Percussionist Gwydian Graves share more than just songwriting duties – they are also husband and wife. While Marlowe is the core lyricist, Gwydian is also the group’s Producer. Keyboardist Madame X, Bassist Roi Singe and the Grave-lings - Sally & Jack, round off Deva de Mentia's distinctive sound.
At present Deva de Mentia are living and recording their premiere release "Cathechism" in New York and plans for live dates both in the US and in Europe are in the works. Look for Deva de Mentia's debut on Voluptuaria Records in Fall/Winter of 2005. In the meantime, check out DEMO versions of possible album tracks under the Audio tab!
