"...But In True DEV ELECTRIC Style, It Got Pretty Hot..."

DEV ELECTRIC was one of the supporting acts for The Veer Union as they made their stop in Houston at Scout Bar recently.

They were supposed to, you know…just warm up the crowd… but in true Dev Electric style, it got pretty hot…

The band members have been around the Houston music scene over a decade now, but Dev Electric is their new venture. Just to sum up the performance, it’s pure rock and roll energy and awesome crowd interaction. You will be standing shoulder to shoulder in the crowd, but it seems as though they are playing live just for you.

"DEV ELECTRIC CD REVIEW"

Dev Electric have released a debut CD that, when listened to, makes you stand up and take notice of this Texas band and realize they are not at all like any other band you have heard. They are better! They have some of the best vocals to be found lately with both lead and backing making for a powerful kick ass sound that is perfectly complimented by outstanding musical contributions from all the band members.

“Red Red Carpet” is great old school rock with a contemporary edginess! The song is really a standout track on a CD that is packed with standouts of great rock and roll songs. “The Queen” is not your usual rock ballad although there are parts heard throughout that would lead you to believe it is going to be a soft ballad. They prove you wrong in a few bars and sell the song as full on rock to head-bang to! It really showcases what the band is capable of placing forth in a very wide range of performance. “Mr. Machine” lends itself to a small bit of pop mixed in with the rock to make for a stellar tune.

“Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” is a stunning rock anthem to cover many of the ills of the world today with lyrics that say what so many of us think but they just say it better. Even though the tune is completely different it is a variation of “Barracuda” from Heart but likewise leaves the lyrics open to many interpretations. “Ordinary” ends the CD with another twist by showing the raw talent of the band with an acoustic tune that still reminds you in no uncertain terms that they are always rock and roll through and through.

Their CD reminds you of what great rock and roll that kicks ass really sounds like! They stay true to all the elements of great rock with shredding riffs and a great heavy bass line and pounding drums. All of this is topped with rock vocals that actually stand up to this killer rock sound without losing any range or having any distortion of sound. Their vocals are really outstanding for the clarity and power when placed against their heaviest songs and yet retain all that clarity and quality when placed in a slower tempo rock ballad. Their lyrics seem far beyond many bands with their grasp on the world and speaking of many aspects but without sounding jaded and bitter but rather just getting the message across. This is a must have album for those searching for pure quality rock and roll music! - Muen Magazine
