"Ben Folds not the only crowd pleaser"

“[Ben] Folds was not the only crowd pleaser at the concert Sunday night. Dante Mazzetti, a singer-songwriter from New York City opened for Folds at the concert. His soulful sound accompanied by a rugged harmonica offset each other rather nicely. ”

Bio

Melding many musical styles, Devils Backbone draws upon influences worldwide. Each member of the band comes from a very different musical background, allowing the music to be diverse. From song to song the members of Devil's Backbone will trade instruments to gain greater variety in the music through varied interpretations.

Dantes voice is different from the cookie cutter sound that drones through our commercialized modern age, and his poetic, visual lyrics provide a strong and personal sense of expression. He has opened on tours of Ben Folds, Hal Ketchum, Guster, Something Corporate and other notable acts all across the country.

Joe primarily plays upright bass for the group but is well known for his ability to pick up and play virtually any instrument that suits the song. He has a rich knowledge of great American music and the ability to play most any song he hears with great feeling and technical proficiency.

Behind the easy smiles Pete is a trumpet ninja, crushing notes easily between his lips whether he is playing grand Beethoven Symphonies or soulful ballads. His skills have led him to collaborate with musicians of all genres and perform at the dopest stages in NYC and beyond. When Pete is not rocking out at concerts around the city, you can find him making great music with Devil's Backbone and kickin' it with the crew.

Devil's Backbone brings together a varied group of musicians who have created a trailblazing band with amazing sounds that are very much their own. Their new debut album is set to release in 2011.
