Rising up from the ashes of three very different bands : Devils Stil is born . John McLellan , Tim Wolfe, Mike Nankervis come from a very popular local Joshua Tree band called Fetish . Mark Grden comes from another famous local Joshua Tree band called Purple Mountain Matinee. Both bands were very successful in the local area and released cds .
Eric Nevis a local Joshua Tree resident, is from a San Francisco band called Colorfinger , this was Art Alexakis's last band before Everclear success. Eric now plays guitar having been a drummer for many years.
I guess the most interesting thing is about Devils Stil is the fact that these guys are real , these guys live the life of the songs they produce. Nobody knows more about that then the lead singer John McLellan , who every moring rises up at 4 to go to his blue collar job working heavy machines to put food on his families table.
When I say Americana I mean real Americana.
