Bio
Devin Gilmer aka Devious D was first exposed to the electronic culture at a Prodigy concert in Seattle. The opener was none other than Meat Beat Manifesto's lead man Jack Dangers, who inspired Devious to seek out the scene in his hometown of Denver. “I still remember my first rave, back in ’98 – it was the Sun party up in Evergreen, CO. It was a culture shock I couldn't get enough of. If you were there, you know!”
Since then, Devious D has been deep into house music, with tastes going all across the board from progressive to tech to vocal and everywhere in between. As a student, D spent most of his time up in Ft. Collins, and it was there that he got his first break into the scene with a residency spot at Club Static. Since then he has performed at some of Denver's top night spots like The Church, Lotus, Rox Ultra Lounge, The Purple Martini, La Sala, and Syn. "My biggest break in the scene has come from joining forces with Twenty40, headed up by Ascension and Matthew Orloff."
With over three years of djing, seamless mixing of sets, and countless friends in Denver’s dance music scene, Devious is now turning his attention to production. “You can expect to see some original tracks out in 2005, but I’m still dedicating a lot of time to networking and marketing."
Currently he plays and helps promote one Friday a month at The Church: Seven Candles as well as one night a month at Opal Sushi Lounge and The Funky Buddha.
