Dewey Decibel System features singer-songwriter Dewey Paul, legendary percussionist Jose Rossy (Sonia Dada, Robert Palmer, Talking Heads), bassist Ryan Zimmerman, and drummer Scott Bruggeman. Occasionally the group is joined by guest performers like vocalist Michelle Caponigro, keyboardist Aylon Baru, and multi-instrumentalist Mike Studeny.
On Bob Dylans 65th birthday (May 24th, 2006), the band performed an evening of Dylans songs (nearly 40) with over 30 guest performers at Denver, Colorados Historic Oriental Theater. The event was a benefit for music programs in Denver public schools and was a huge success. In fact a spin-off group, Dylan65 has been created as a result of the show.
In 2006, Dewey Decibel System released its 5th independent CD, Henrys Groove Collective and the title track Henrys Groove was featured on a Denver area music compilation, Parapalooza IV.

The band originally kicked off in 1995 in Gainesville, Florida with its premier indy CD, Not All Who Wander Are Lost. The CD featured some of Gainesvilles most prominent musicians like Mike Boulware, Scott Clayton, Josh Greenbaum and renowned blues singer Yvonne Jackson.
Other Decibel System CDs featured well known guests too like Polytoxic keyboardist C.R. Gruver, guitarist Chris Mule (Eric Lindell, Juice, Rockin Jake), and legendary percussionist Jose' Rossy (Weather Report, Talking Heads, Brian Eno, Power Station, Robert Palmer, Patti LaBelle, Sonia Dada). Rossy has become a regular member of the group.
The music? Oh you know how hard that can be to describe sometimes... how about: Indy americana singer-songwriter meets jam band pop -ala Neil Young and Crazy Horse.. huh?!? Regardless of what you might hear (some hear Lou Reed meets Tom Petty), Dewey Decibel System continues to win people over and over and over again.
