"TROOP CD "Going Home""

'CD's to troops in the Middle East, what a great gift to those serving our country!'
Sarah J. Gatewood
Donor Relationship Manager, Metro United Way

"It's so important to support our military's young men and women who are spending Christmas in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world with something to make their holiday a little bit brighter. The Troop CD "Going Home" in a small way helps with that and Tyson Foods was happy to help in that effort."

Bio

Co-Owner & Band Leader, Steve Price is no stranger to the music business. Starting out as a songwriter in the 80's, local musicians sought his advice and to this day consider him the main influence and reason for them pursuing music.

Price has over 100 originals and can play and sing hundreds of covers of various genres. He has performed at numerous clubs in Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky, as well as performances in LA at "Gazzari's" and "Dancing Waters."

From 1980 to 1992 he formed "Evans Landing," known for their video, "0-60" produced by Crystal Moss, which aired locally on cable and was nominated for "Best Storyline Concept," in Blockbuster's Video Contest held at Coyote's nightclub in Louisville Kentucky. They also won 2nd place in 1988 and 1st place in 1987 in the Carl Casper Auto Show Band Battle. They also were runner ups to Spanky Lee in a local songwriters contest in 1986. The band also won the categories of "Best Hard/Rock" in 1992 and Price won "Best Folk" in 1994 in a local songwriters contest.

Price went on to combine his talents with Jim Masterson to form the duo "Price and Masterson" in 1992. Masterson, received notariety with his band "The Jim Masterson's Blue's Band." As an accomplished guitarist he jammed with some of the greats. While in Chicago he performed at the Chicago Blues Club and shared the stage with Junior Wells, James Cotton, and Muddy Waters. He was a major influence on the local blues scene. He continued his work with Price to form "The River Rats," in 1995. In 2009 they changed their name to "The Steve Price Band."

The band urilizes various musicians as necessary to fit the needs of the venue.

Steve Lopp was an original member of "The River Rats," and often sets in with The Steve Price Band. Lopp was the bass player for the family oriented country band "The Midnight Ramblers." From 1986 to 1990 he played rock and country in "Four Wheel Drive." He formed the variety band "Hoosier Daddy," in 1990. They placed in the top 5 out of 60 bands in WAMZ radio's "Battle of the Bands," in 1991.

Drummer, David Cooper sets in with us on occasion. Cooper played with the popular groups, "Showdown," with Mike Cottingham for over ten years, playing throughout Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky. He was also a valued member of "Y-Knot," "Evans Landing," "Eddie Anderson and The Sixth Street Band," "Trip," and "The Night Band."

Vocalist Christiana Lawrence makes guest appearances. Her powerful vocals have made her a favorite at local fairs, festivals and jamborees. More to come about Christi at a later date!

Dewey Heights often books other acts such as Steven Wheatley. In 2006, he was a regional finalist for Nashville Star, and in 2000, he performed at the Little Nashville Opry Show located in Nashville, Indiana. He also placed 2nd at The Lincoln Jamboree Talent Show in Hodgenville, Kentucky and placed 3rd in the Jimmy Dean Country Showdown in Nashville, Tennesee. In 1999 he placed 2nd on the Fiddlers Jamboree in Smithville, Tennessee. Steven appeared at the Bluebird in Nashville, Tennessee in 1996 which was broadcast over the internet via webcast. He was also asked to perform on the TNT T.V Show in 1995 on the Charlie Daniels Talent Round Up and was picked from over 200,000 entries. Our publishing division is currently pitching his songs to National Recording Artists.

Co-Owner, Crystal Moss is not a stranger to the music scene either. As a photographer and promotions manager, she has provided services to acts too numerous to count.
She gained experience networking with Nashville producers, publishers, and national acts , such as Phil Vassar, Gary Allen, and producer Rusty McFarland, while managing vocalist Gina Emerson. She has organized songwriters contests and multi band stages. She wrote, produced and filmed the videos, "0 to 60" and "After Today," which were both nominated for "Best Storyline Concept," in The Blockbuster Video Awards, which aired on television. Her work also appears in Mike Keithley's video, "Are You Ever Coming Home." She co-owned the music magazine, "The Regional Entertainment Directory," with musician George Brackens, which gained her access to numerous national acts and music professionals. She admires talented people and is driven by her disire to see them pursue their "Burning Yes."
