Dewey Paul Band

Dewey Paul is an American singer/songwriter who performs solo acoustic or with his bands Dewey Decibel System and Dylan65.

He is also a well known and highly respected audio engineer in the Colorado entertainment community. He blends his expertise in the acoustic sciences and his artistic passions from living a life mostly on the road with his talent for introspective songwriting. He draws inspiration from everyday life to his past experiences of living abroad, relationships, and the basic struggles of the human condition.

He cites Bob Dylan, J.J. Cale, Van Morrison, and Jackson Browne as his main musical influences.

He is a native of a small polluted Ohio factory town known as Coshocton where his musical roots began on the guitar at the age of 9. His adolescent years were spent in the historical and ritzy ocean side town of Boca Raton, Florida.

Around the age of 18 while hitchhiking and hopping freight trains around the countryside, he found himself being constantly shadowed by a pyschedelic rock group known as the Grateful Dead. This eventually led to his entry into the entertainment buisness whereupon he was hired to work behind the scenes by the one and only legendary concert promoter Bill Graham.

He spent the early 1990s in the San Francisco bay area working for Bill Graham Presents, mostly setting up dressing rooms at Grateful Dead shows and learning a great deal about concert promotion, production and live sound reinforcement. By 1993, he packed up his newly found knowledge and heeded the call back to Florida; this time to the university town of Gainesville where a prime music scene was emerging.

In the beautiful and serene southern town of Gainesville, Florida, He gained popularity as a concert promoter with a company he partnered, the Gainesville Music Alliance (known as GAMA). In addition to developing local music from bands such as Less Than Jake and Sister Hazel, GAMA became the premier concert promoter in North Central Florida producing music festivals with many national artists including The Allman Brothers Band, Widespread Panic, Joan Osborne, Ben Harper, and George Clinton's P-Funk.

Eventually he would move on to other opportunities like in New Orleans, Louisiana where he resided for a year and worked at the world famous House of Blues. In 1998 Dewey landed a job on the road sound engineering at various country music festivals. That road led him to Denver, Colorado where he currently resides.
