It’s hard to believe, but it’s possible! All that bullshit about the youth’s lack of musical taste is immediately disavowed with this release. DeWolff is an adolescent band from the Southern regions in The Netherlands (a city called Geleen) and this six track debut EP (including two single edits) brings back the heydays of Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Doors, Rory Gallagher en Led Zeppelin in all their glorious excitement. Holy shit, this is something special! Without exaggerating I think the eighteen-year old Hammond organist Robin Piso destroys his organ as flamboyant as Jon Lord and Ray Manzarek in their best days, the fourteen-year young Luka van der Poel let his drums swing like Ginger Baker and Mitch Mitchell together an his three years older brother Pablo can sing with a timbre that will melt every Jim Morrison fan and sets his guitar on fire just like Rory Gallagher and Keith Richards did before they were 24/7 pissed.
Yes, I compare a three Dutch snotty boys with the greatest rockers on Earth. And guess what? They’re getting away with it! Oh my God, what’s happening here? Do we have here a new sensation? Yes, we have! But how’s it possible that three youngsters reactivate the defining years of rock by these legendary rock stars so gloriously? I really have no clue, but the fact is: they do! Especially the long ‘The Thrills That Come Along With The Landing Of A Flying Saucer’ is a mind-boggling example of ear-deafening 60s heavy psychedelic blues-stomping hard rock. This is pure gold, and regarding recent appearances of the band on national Dutch television, the mainstream media is getting aware of it as well.
I acknowledge the fact that it’s an cheap excuse to emphasize their age, but let me remind you: if the musicians were in their forties or something, the sensation was equally great. It’s just their age makes it even harder to believe. This is the ultimate surprising debut that annihilates almost everything that came out this year. Overwhelming debuts like this are extremely rare: once maybe twice a year, sometimes years pass by without debuting releases like this. It sounds like a fairytale that hopefully will live happily ever after. DeWolff is loose!

DeWolff is a three-headed rockmonster that crawled straight out of the delta of the Keutelebeek (a river in the Southern part of Holland), determined to free this world from the tyranny of the same old dreadful pop that rules the ether nowadays, and conquer her with their electrifying psychedelic bluesrock.
Brothers Pablo and Luka van de Poel and Robin Piso founded DeWolff in 2007. In 2008 they released their self-titled EP and started spreading their highly electrified psychedelic gospel all over the country. After a few national TV-appearances and more than one hundred live-shows DeWolff released their debut album Strange Fruits and Undiscovered Plants in 2009. A successful tour and a show at Europes oldest music festival, Pinkpop Festival, followed in 2010. In that same year DeWolff went back to the studio for two weeks to record their second album Orchards/Lupine, which will be realeased in 2011. Psychedelic diamonds to fuzz-drenched rock n rollbombs and everything in between, this album captures everything DeWolff stands for: passion, energy, style and fuzz!
