Bio
With thought provoking songs such as “Eye of the Needle”, “Shades of Gray” and her personal testimony in “I need you”, Desiree delivers potent lyrics over haunting groves with strong pop and adult contemporary appeal. With her debut independent release “His Hands”, Desiree is following the call on her heart to minister and bless others through her songs. As a compelling singer / songwriter, Desiree is laying the foundation for what promises to be a fruitful and blessed journey. Performing and writing since the age of 7 with her two sisters, Desiree’s mom would encourage her creativity and imaginations. Music became a key role in Desiree’s ability to express her thoughts through songs. “My mom would make me sing to many different types of artist such as Brenda Lee, Aretha Franklin, Crystal Gayle, Amy Grant and The Judds.” Her mom was a talented writer; she taught Desiree to look behind the meaning of the poem. She introduced her children to T.S. Elliott, C.S. Lewis, Robert Frost and Edgar Allen Poe. “I remember thinking is this suppose to make sense? Later on, it inspired me to want to pen my own poems, short stories and lyrics.
After several years of performing in numerous church choirs, and solo performances, Desiree responded to a call on her life to put years of singing for a purpose, which she could not do in her own strength. Her project “His Hands” is a testimony of her journey and it appears it is just the beginning of what is to come. “These past few years have been a time for refining, growing, reflection and learning to follow even when the path is shadowed by uncertainties. One thing is clear; God knows our needs, limitations, our frailty, and our crumbling stones and yet loves us in spite of our selves. Thank you Lord Jesus!” What does God want? What are his building blocks? He desires the same from all of us. Reconciliation! He wants to be loved first and best. He wants obedience out of love and reverence. Desiree’s desire is to show the world that this God is the one and true, GOD OF LIFE by lifting her voice in praise to her majestic creator. Without him nothingness and vanity! With HIM everlasting LIFE!
