Bio
Dennis Florine (see www.dennisflorine.com for a full bio) began D Flo and the Mess in the summer of 2010, following the release of his EP, “Scratching at the Surface Now.” Featuring the single "Romina" the EP received radio play on half a dozen stations in the Chicagoland area. In addition, "Romina" is featured on the new CNGM Pictures feature film, "Darren and Abbey."
Touring the album for a year, solo acoustic and with his band, Dennis returned to the studio to record his first fully produced album. Driving out to Robert Lang Studios in November of 2010, Florine teamed up with producer Nathan Yaccino (Soundgarden, Adam Kasper) to come out with his latest, "O' World, What a Beautiful Tragedy." The album was released June 25th, 2011.
This summer, the band played for Dennis’ CD Release on June 25th at the notorious Cubby Bear in Chicago. Bringing out over 250, the band was booked again to play in September. As Dennis returns from a full season of touring, they are gearing up for their debut at the Double Door in Chicago December 17th.
As young as this band is, they have already performed at 3 universities throughout the Midwest (Illinois State, Lewis, Illinois Wesleyan University).
