D-FYANT

D-FYANT is that new sound that is desired in these uncertain times. The Houston, TX based band is a fresh blend of rock and reggae, topped with catchy smooth vocals. The band released their self titled CD in February of 2007. Within those fifteen tracks is the gambit of what D-FYANT is. From the beginning with "Fya Fya" and "Don't You Understand", the band establishes quickly and convincingly, that no one genre can define the band. "No Wrongs" and "Gotta Know Your Name" does showcase the Motown influences of Colin, the front man of the group. "Lost", "Miserable", and "Move On" show the influences of guitarists Kelly and Wayne while "Flat Puppet" lets Nez, the keyboardist, and Blakley, the drummer cut loose on wild ideas.

Injecting the band with new passion is the recent addition of Taylor to the D-FYANT family. He is the "utility man"; guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, and back-up vocalist. He joined the band when D-FYANT suddenly lost a great man and friend, Earl Grey, in the winter of 2007. He was the bassist and co-manager of the band. His influence and energy has been greatly missed, though his spirit lives on with the members of D-FYANT.

D-FYANT is quickly becoming known for their electrifying live shows. In Houston, the band has played at Scout Bar, Fitzgerald's, Meridian, The Engine Room, Rudyard's, Cellar Bar, Javajazz, and the band's "home" bar Cheers 2 U. They have also performed at the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo, at a Houston Texans tailgating event provided by The GridIron Grillers, and at Relay for Life which is an American Cancer Society fundraising event which the band performed in 2006 and 2007. Outside of Houston, the band has performed at GW's Roadhouse and Average Joe's, both in Laredo, TX, and at Six Flags in St. Louis, MO.

D-FYANT can currently be heard on the radio in Laredo and Corpus Christi, TX.
