BandCountryComedy

I write songs in the traditional country genre. The songs I grew up on. The influence of my family as musicians and old country roots. Songs I consider to be old style country music such as Jones, Haggard, etc.

Biography

I was born in Edina, Missouri and moved to northwest Illinois when I was very little. My dad was a major influence in my love for country music. We would all go to grandpas house on Sundays and play all day and enjoy home cooked meals. It became a tradition to look forward to Sunday for the family music. The day consisted of Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Chet Atkins, Roy Acuff, and many more. That's where it all started for me.

Nobodys Fool

Nobody's Fool

Key of D

Verse One

In a cafe down in Dallas having coffee with a friend
Someone came in the doorway a familiar face from way back when
My friend said do you know her cause her eyes are glued on you
I said oh that's nobody I used to be nobody's fool

Verse Two

So I thought I'd walk on over it wouldn't hurt to say hello
But with each step I get closer to those old feelings I used to know
There's no need to fight it that's a fight that I can't win
And I know down in my heart I'd be nobody's fool again

Chorus

There was a time that woman held my heart in her hand
If you'd asked me then I'd a swore what we had would never end
I can't blame it on nobody but believe there was a day I did
And I know down in my heart I'd be nobody's fool again

Verse Three

She said I heard you found a new love and I thought this was the end
Now by chance we're here together could we start this all again
I looked at her and smiled and said I wish the best for you
You can keep the memories I won't be nobody's fool

Chorus

There was a time that woman held my heart in her hand
If you'd ask me then I'd a swore what we had would never end
I can't blame it on nobody but believe me there was a time I did
And I know down in my heart I'd be nobody's fool again

Written By: David H. Parrish / BMI

I'm Sorry For All That I've Done

First Verse

For all that I've done I am sorry
Since we met you were the only one
You were always on my mind now it's all been wasted time
I'm so sorry for all that I've done

First Chorus

I'm sorry for that new car in the driveway
I'm sorry for that closet full of clothes
I'm sorry for this big house that you wanted
How you'll make the payments I don't know
I'm sorry that I didn't see this comin
I'm sorry for the money that you've blown
I'm so sorry I could cry all those bills ain't even mine
I'm so sorry for all that I've done

Bridge

Second Verse

For all that I've done I am sorry
You were my bright morning sun
I thought we'd grow old now your heart's turned to stone
I'm so sorry for all that I've done

Second Chorus

I'm sorry for that visa card I gave you
I'm sorry I made payments all along
I'm sorry that I let you spend the savings
I haven't checked I'm sure it's mostly gone
I'm sorry that I worked so many hours
To keep you in a lifestyle full of fun
I'm so sorry I can't sleep you just cost too much to keep

My Brother And Me

Written By: David H. Parrish / BMI

My Brother And Me

Verse One

Daddy worked two jobs mama worked one
We finished up our homework then time for some fun
Two young boys imagination and dreams

We didn't have cell phones and no pc's
We only had three channels on our old TV
We always found something to do my brother and Me

Chorus

A hammer and a nail and some old used boards
A rope and a ladder and an new tree fort
Sitting on top of the world my brother and me
My brother and me playing in the barn
An old tire swing not doing no harm
Brothers couldn't be any closer than my brother and me
My brother and me

Bridge

Verse Two

Some years later when the world wasn't calm
They shipped my brother to Viet Nam
He came back safe and sound in seventy three

He bought his first car with money he'd saved
We cruised round town while the eight track played
Back to the way we were my brother and me

Chorus

A sixty five ford in dark navy blue
A pair of fuzzy dice on the old rear view
Livin on burgers and fries my brother and me
My brother and me just the way it was
A cold root beer at the Dog & Suds
Brothers couldn't be any closer than my brother and me
My brother and me
