Bio

Dhuum Machale is a Hindi phrase roughly meaning “make a festive sound,” which is exactly what this new band from Los Angeles loves to do. The band was formed as the result of the vision of bassist, songwriter, and creative force, Andito Toquito. The vision described a band of musicians interested in creating harmonically, rhythmically, and lyrically sophisticated music to make as much of a positive impact on the world as possible. It didn’t take long for a number of experienced musicians sharing this vision to assemble the thumpin’ band that Dhuum Machale is today. Members come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, bringing a wide range of musical influences ranging from salsa to funk, doo-wop to electronica, cumbia to classical, and everything in between. The result is a constantly developing groove gumbo designed to take the world by storm.
Dhuum Machale knows that there are many open-minded groove addicts waiting for a band to come along that will give them an eclectic fix to stimulate their hearts, minds, and booties! They are making a name for themselves on the stage with a show that is as incredible to watch as it is to hear. They have already played a number of shows to benefit organizations who are also trying to make a positive impact on the world, gaining numerous fans in the process.
Their new demo, “Heard Dat!” was recorded with a polyrhythmic pulse provided by Sean Rainey (drums) and Vincent Heckard (percussion). The sonic soundscape filled by Eduardo Arenas (guitar) and Armando Almaraz (keys and vocals). Furthermore, with the harmonic interplay between vocalists Jason Powell, Tracy Nicole Chapman, and Karinna Kerth (who also contributes with sax and percussion), this band will stop at nothing to realize its vision.
