"Diablo Strange – Sordid Tales"

Feast your ears on eleven tales of hard and fuzzy prestidigitation. Your capable hosts for the next 40 minutes can trade punches with the stoner rock heavyweights all night long but are just as quick to weave an intoxicating spell in a top hat and penguin suit. A gruff voice, fuzz bass and guitar that relies less heavily on effects than on strong riffs power these tales forward. Meet Diablo Strange. A magician? No! A stoner rock band hailing from Moncton, New Brunswick, a province on Canada’s choppy east coast. The Maritime provinces were throwing stoner bands out to the far corners of the earth long before any of the rest of the country knew what the hell they were doing over there. Diablo Strange does well to live up to that nobly stoned heritage. So hop into the shaggin’ wagon and drive cross country, drawn to the heavy aroma and gravelly voiced siren call of the Maritimes, you now have the perfect soundtrack for the road trip! - Stoner Hive

"Review of Diablo Strange – Sordid Tales"

Boasting thick, sludgy guitar riffs and gruff vocals, the full-length debut from Moncton’s Diablo Strange never fails to find a groove. With visions of Clutch and Black Sabbath dancing in their heads, the group powers it was through these 11 tracks. Whether you consider the group to be a stoner rock, hard rock or a heavy metal band, there are really no surprises to be found here otherwise. And that’s not a bad thing. What you see is what you get with Diablo Strange: straight up, well executed rock n roll, played with passion. What more can you ask for? - MusicNerd.ca

"Diablo Strange - A new band to burn one to"

"Canadian band Diablo Strange charges ahead with a trashy brand of what I would call stonerockabilly. Pounding rythyms, scorching guitar work, sing-a-long choruses, and infectious melodies rise through the flames and into your soul."

Bio

Diablo Strange formed in 2010 as a power trio with a vision of making old school heavy rock with a modern twist. The band has taken influences ranging from classic rock, metal, blues and punk and fused them all together tastefully to create their own sound. With catchy melodies, powerful rock riffs, vocal harmonies and lively drumming, Diablo Strange shows variety by delivering songs that tell stories of tap dancing outlaws to an escape from a mental institution.

The chemistry between members Matt Cormier (Lead Vocalist/Bassist), Marty Surette (Lead Guitar/Backup vocals) and J-D Thibodeau (Drummer) is undeniable in both their explosive live performance and the creation of their own heavy yet groovy brand of rock. The growly vocals comparable to Clutch, bass and drum rhythms similar to Queens of the Stone Age, and head-bobbing guitar is sure to deliver something satisfying to fans of different genres of rock/metal.

Diablo Strange has already released their first self-titled EP containing 6 tracks in May, 2012 and their first full length album “Sordid Tales” in spring of 2013.
