"Diagonal: 'Negatives' single review"

Diagonal has released a new single called “Negatives”. This is the band’s second single of 2019 following up “Detroit” which was released back in April.

You can catch Diagonal on November 1st at Liars Club with Warhorses, God Damn Your Eyes, and Via Verso. - The Deli Magazine - Chicago

"Fresh Tracks: 'Negatives' by Diagonal"

Another fuzz steeped opus from the post-punk psych masters Diagonal. Following in the footsteps of last winter’s EP You Are Free and single “Detroit/Are ‘Friends Electric” 7” comes this earworm that latches on and just won’t let go. “Negatives” says all it needs to about this local five piece who just keep the groove riding all the way home. - Chicago Crowd Surfer

"Watch This: Diagonal Performs at DZ Records"

Just last month, Chicago band Diagonal brought their psych-stylings to suburban recording studio, DZ Records. Today, DZ Records is sharing video footage from that intimate performance. - Midwest Action

"Diagonal: 'Detroit' single review"

Psych Rock group Diagonal has released a new single called “Detroit” that includes a surprising and fun cover of the Gary Numan classic “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?”.

Diagonal is the work of Dan Jarvis, Alex Brumley, Dale Price, Chris Detlaff, and Silas James Mishler.

You can catch Diagonal on May 29th at Emporium with Protovulcan and Speed Babies and on June 19th at Livewire Lounge. - The Deli Magazine - Chicago

"Ravenswood On Tap review"

After my journey for a brew from Spiteful, indie psych-rockers Diagonal were just on the horizon of finishing their line check. Their three-guitar attack is the perfect delivery system for a sonic daydream of effect-laden mood enhancement. Silas Mishler’s vocals flowed through the set, tying the hovering beats together, as Dan Jarvis (guitar, Midwest Action guru), Dale Price (bass, also of Fauvely), and Alex Brumley (guitar), swirled and swayed through the driving drums from Chris Detlaff. New track “Detroit” was a solid highlight, as they rolled through a too-short set full of tunes off last year’s Tomorrow and You Are Free EP. Diagonal doesn’t have any dates set quite yet, but they should be coming to a club near you soon. - Chicago Crowd Surfer

"Smashed Plastic Grand Opening review"

Diagonal was the third band to perform that evening. If you didn’t know already, they’re your standard Chicago shoe-gaze band with some psychedelic leanings and a fondness for post-rock posturing. They played an energetic but tightly controlled set that adhered closely to the sound of their latest EP, You Are Free. A friend of mine remarked afterward on social media that it was surprising how his ears weren’t totally fried after Diagonal's set despite the liberal application of distortion. The band takes a softer approach to building their walls-of-sound, and it is a much-appreciated courtesy for the ears of their audiences. - Chicago Crowd Surfer

"Diagonal Interview"

CHIRP DJ and interviewer Marites Velasquez spoke with local shoegaze inspired Diagonal. They explain how they came to be in a band together, what music they can all agree on or agree to disagree on, and the unique town of Jim Thorpe – to get the full story on the town’s oddities, name, and more about the band tune in now. - CHIRP Radio - Podcast
