Bio

While the name may cause you to think of four large tattooed men, the band actually only consists of two, rather-small, tattooed men: Danilo Queiros (bass), and Adrian Culhane (guitar) and, of course, the very lovely lead lady, Chantel Van T (vox).

Their sound is described as an intricate, but seemingly effortless, mix of electronic synths with live instruments. Mesmerizing vocal melodies flirt with groovy bass-lines, rhythmical guitar riffs and hip-hop influenced drumbeats.

In just over a year, Diamond Thug have been on two tours to the highveld; released a three track acoustic EP;  released a music video for their single Man Who Makes the Law, which has over 3000 views to date, and are now working on a full length album. Their name has been featured on many popular SA blogs such as We-Are-Awesome, AnotherDay and Drop Your Drink. Diamond Thug have played sets at top festivals and clubs across the country, including Rocking the Daisies, Synergy Live, The Assembly (CPT), Arcade Empire (PTA) and Kitcheners (JHB), with bands like ShortStraw, Al Bairre, Locnville and more.

They are set to record their next single with the highly acclaimed SAMA and Grammy award winning producer, Darryl Torr at the end of October, and have just released their latest music video for their new single, ‘What I Think I Know’.

They have just come back from playing an amazing show at the dusty Oppikoppi, and Rocking The Daisies and are set to play Up The Creek early next year.

Through their love for music and their perpetual desire to improve their sound Diamond Thug have fast broken into the South African music scene. With their big dreams and unrivalled dedication its certainly easy to say that exciting times lie ahead.
