"Hot Date On A Cool Night"

"No question but what David J. Sherry is an outstanding vocalist and tribute artist. He could well become a recording star in his own right." - THE PAPER

"Neil Diamond Tribute Artist Brings His Act To The Moonlight"

"Randy Sterling," Diamond's original bass player, said "He doesn't copy Neil. He becomes Neil. It's a totally different thing . . . Plus, he's just a fabulous performer." - Union Tribune

"Love At The Greek"

"Sherry's stage presence, his powerful Neil Diamond-like voice . . . always thrills the audience. His tribute complete with full band, lights, smoke and costumes, touches on nearly every phase of Diamond's career, and truly captures the sound, style and feel of Neil Diamond." - The Paper

"Hot September Night"

"I was surprised by the size of the crowd," Sterling said. "By the time He got into about the third, fourth, fifth song, all of a sudden it was like, 'Damn, this is exactly what I remember when I was standing 4 feet from Neil (on tour).'" - Union Tribune

"David J. Sherry's "Diamond Is Forever" Is Now Big Time"

Stage discipline, stage presence, showmanship, great music, a great band, superb costumes, lighting, sound . . . everything fell into place last Saturday evening at the fantastic new Moonlight Amphitheatre in Vista.
Upon arrival at the amphitheatre we found the stage properly dressed, with all the band's instruments in place. Shortly, a brilliant keyboardist, Johnny Bruhns, came on stage . . . and begins to play the overture. As the overture builds, the other band members take their place, the backup singers take their place . . . the band joins in with the overture and, suddenly, with a flourish, there he is, Neil diamond! With a dramatic entrance he takes the mic, greets the audience, and begins his show. From that moment on, the audience is his!
Only one thing. It isn't Neil Diamond. It's David J. Sherry, a master tribute artist who has captured the charisma of Neil Diamond, whose voice even sounds like Neil Diamond.
The show is tightly produced and flows seamlessly from one song to the next with Sherry adopting the persona of Neil Diamond and giving the narrative background on many of the songs.
Just some of the inventory of songs include: I Am . . . I Said, Longfellow Serenade, Cracklin' Rosie, Holly Holy, Forever in Blue Jeans, Shilo, Play Me, Solitary Man, Song Sung Blue, Sweet Caroline, and in a beautiful duet, he and Ce Ce Taylor sang You Don't Bring Me Flowers. It was a show stopper.
Sherry works the audience and the ladies love it. On at least three songs he entered the audience and crooned to swooning ladies. A masterful piece of showmanship. Combine his tightly produced show with the absolutely beautiful new facility at Moonlight Amphitheater (complete with van shuttle service from the parking lot, another classy touch) and you have the makings for a most enjoyable evening of top notch entertainment.
To close out the evening, Sherry and his Neil Diamond Forever Band played and sang Brother Love's Travelin' Salvation Show . . . and the show was over!
Next time you hear about David J. Sherry's Diamond Is Forever Show appearing . . . Go! Run, do not walk, to buy tickets. You'll enjoy yourself. As we did. - The Paper review by Lyle E. Davis
