Bio
Steve Shelton has been writing music for 30 years and we have been polishing it up. Now is the time for the Diamond Lane Band to get it out to the world. Some of the music is life stories and some is just a lot of fun. Steve and Rick Smit started the Duo From the DOCS in Kitchener Ontario in 1988 and we played for two years. Rick was replaced by Tony Hall after two years. Steve and Tony played in the Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph area for 10 more years as the Duo From the DOCS. Steve wanted a bigger sound so we Rick and Greg Hayes joined in. When we added Dale Bonnett's sax to the band it took the music to a new level. Making the sound Jazzier and so the compositions took on a jazz feel as well though songs like Bear, Spencer Smith Park and Moneys Worth didn't change from the folkie/rock sound that they were meant to have. We have always entertained whether it is at a club or at the park people love our tunes.
