Lyrics

Stray

Written By: Diana Pearson

Night falls
I'm melting in the arms of a beautiful, dark-haired man
He's so much older & so much wiser than me
Oh no, not again
My dishonesty's bound to take me places I've only been with him in my mind and in my drunken messages
But he says,
"Girl, I think you're cute
But you should get out there and explore the world
You've got so much learning to do
So don't waste your love on me"

Well,
A wise man never strays
But I'm not looking for wisdom or strength

The dawn comes
I'm melting like the snow that fell last night when I drove him home
Just a wink from him, and I'm instantly falling apart
Oh no, not again
But he says,
"Girl, I think you're beautiful
But I can't go that far
I've got somebody waiting for me at home
Waiting for me at home"

Well,
A wise man never strays
But I'm not looking for wisdom or strength

Morning brings the shame
Such a familiar game
I welcome you like I always do
These knights they turn me into the fool
This passion lasts only a moment
But guilt, you are so unkind
You're so unkind

Well,
A wise man never strays
But I'm not looking for wisdom or strength

Come Back To You

Written By: Diana Pearson

It's been three years now since I've left home
I've changed a lot since I've been gone
But it feels so good to come back to this rainy island town.

The smell of fall is in the air and
I can feel it, I've been changing
But there's a solitude so peaceful in this place I call my home.

Right here in your arms, I am your little girl
I need your shelter
Though I may wander and run
I'll always come back to you.
Right here in your heart, you are the best of me
I'm your reflection
And I'm drawn to your comfort, to this windy road
That brings me back to you
I'll always come back to you.

My first summer love down at the lake
After days of rain, one sunny break
Staying up all night 'cause we can't say goodbye to days like these.

It's as though I lived a country song
It's who I am, where I belong
Drinking wine and watching sunsets, it's so good to be back home.

Even when I'm falling apart, you seem to see the good in me.
Even when I'm falling apart you see, you see the good in me.

Right here in your arms, I am your little girl
I need your shelter
Though I may wander and run
I'll always come back to you.
Right here in your heart
You are the foundation I was built on
And I'm drawn to your comfort, to this windy road
That brings me back to you
I'll always come back to you.

When

Written By: Adam Wing

Is it? It is as it's always been
Am I? Yes I am, I remain the same
When I sink in my clothes and conceal my face
From the face that I know better than anyone

Then I laugh at the girl that I trusted and hoped
To lift up the girl I always knew I'd become

And I say when
And I say when
And I say when
I say when

Because yes I know there's something here
Watch me, you'll see, I'll shock the world
I'll be the girl you adore and I'll laugh at tomorrow
I won't chafe in my skin or feel trapped like before

When I'm so much more, when I'm a rockstar
I tell you, I tell you I'll be content

When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind
Like leaves
That's when

Here and now will end somehow
For once, I'll be the girl I dream
But I'm still not, and I can't wait
And everytime I fail again
I'm getting tired, I cannot win
And all that's left for me to sing
to sing is when

I'll play the game like I always do
Dust myself off like a bloody fool
When my chance comes again, I know that I'll take it
When I fall on my ass, God damn it I'll break it

When I get what I want, I'm sure that I'll drop it
When I lose what I love, my best will not stop it

And I tell myself
I say, when
I say

Here and now will end somehow
For once, I'll be the girl I dream
But I'm still not and I can't wait
And everytime I fail again
I'm getting tired I cannot win
and all that's left for me to sing
to sing is when

And I say when
So I say when
So I say when
And I sing when

The Best Thing

Written By: Diana Pearson/Alex Tsisserev

I'll never settle for less than love again
I tear down these photos but the hooks remain in me
It's so hard when the best of us is packed away
How foolish was I to settle in so soon

It was so easy to believe that what we made believe could be
Now I know that love can't be built on red flags and melodies

There was so much potential left behind
Empty promises that I trusted would last a lifetime
All your sparkle and shine left me betrayed
But what drew me in has pushed me far, far away

You're all out of time
I've left us behind
I'm done, we're through, it's over
Fast forward my heart
We end where I start
I'm done, we're through, it's over
I've opened my eyes
I see your disguise
I'm done, we're through, it's over
I am the best thing that you'll ever lose

The best thing, the best thing, the best thing that you'll ever lose
The best thing, the best thing, the best thing that you'll ever lose
The best thing, the best thing, the best thing that you'll ever lose
The best thing, the best thing, the best thing that you'll ever lose

I'll never settle for less than love again
I tear down these photos, but the hooks remain in me.
