Bio

Born and raised in Port Alberni, B.C., Diana Pearson (age 23) is an aspiring pianist and vocalist now residing in Calgary, Alberta. Inspired by contemporary artists such as Vanessa Carlton and Regina Spektor, Dianas song-writing style consists of catchy melodies, emotionally-driven lyrics and a distinct piano style. Her delicate yet sassy voice has been compared to Chantal Kreviazuk and Sarah Mclachlan.

A dedicated and passionate musician, Diana has been studying music from a young age. She studied piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music for many years, most recently earning First Class Honours with Distinction at the grade nine level. Diana also holds a Jazz Studies Diploma in Music from Vancouver Island University. Alongside her formal training, Diana would say that some of her most valuable lessons have come from practical experience. Her musical involvement spans many genres, including musical theatre productions, jazz ensembles, choirs, cover bands and solo performances. She has performed in countless restaurants, lounges, various festivals and weddings. Diana was also chosen to compose and perform an original song (Come Back to You) that was featured in the 2010 Olympic Torch Ceremonies on Vancouver Island.

This diverse list of experiences has blessed Diana with a versatile, unique musical style. In the popular music world, Diana is a passionate songwriter. October 2011 brought the release of her first album, entitled "Second Chances." The album portrays honesty and charm, capturing the essence of her song-writing abilities. Her second EP was released August 2012, entitled "There's Something Here;" these tracks showcase a bolder, more adventurous side of Diana both lyrically and harmonically. Most recently, Diana received a recording grant from the CSRA (Canadian Society for the Recording Arts) and is currently in the process of recording a full-length album.

In performance Diana is musically adventurous and light-hearted but above all, sincere. Without doubt, she has the ability to capture the heart of any listener with her pure sound and open nature. Be on the look-out for this emerging Canadian artist as her musical success continues to grow.
