"Cochise Cowboy Gathering"

Diane Tribitt is a fresh young cowboy poet who sparkles when she performs.

She touches her audience with her honesty, sincerity and humor. Diane performed at the Cochise Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering in 2007 and will be a returning artist. When attendees were asked who they enjoyed during the Gathering, Diane's name came up often.

Diane writes her own poetry and brings her experiences with ranch life into her renditions. There are several women poets who are considered the "best of the best." I expect to see Diane's name in with those wonderful ladies very soon.

If you have not seen Diane in action, I would tell you she represents the best of our new young cowboy poet artists. She is a professional and she is a delightful lady. I am most thankful she shared her talents with us last year.

Bio

Diane Tribitt, Minnesota’s Cowgirl Poet, is a rancher from Hillman, Minnesota. She also runs a construction crew that erects grain bins across the United States, and has served on the rodeo circuit for many years as an events secretary. Diane was widowed in 2004 when her husband sacrificed his life in a rodeo arena while assisting a 13 year old bronc rider to safety. Diane has carried on the tasks of the ranch as well as the construction crew. Diane brings this wealth of experience to every poem she writes. But the special feelings that her works evoke is also rooted in a deep spirituality and faith that comes from years of hard work in the open air, the special love of family and friends, and devastating losses that raise the question of what life is really all about.

Diane’s poetry has captivated cowboys and cowgirls alike with it’s charm and authenticity, and she has been invited to appear at poetry festivals throughout the West. One of her poems took the top honor (Silver Buckle - Poet/Serious division) at a recent festival in Kanab, Utah.
