"Rescue Room 01/04/11"

In almost as stark a contrast as can be, following them were Dick Venom & The Terrortones whose thundering blend of psychobilly punk, machismo arrogance and maniacal energy were bound to have shocked and appalled just as much as they excited and amused - an admirable trait in this reviewer’s books. They thrashed and strutted their way though an impressive set of shuddering punk, and while Dick’s hair might be high enough to touch the sky, their music looks southwards and gives a high five to Lucifer. - Capitol FM

"Glasto audtition"

"Last on and certifiably insane were Dick Venom and the Terrortones. Difficult to pin down, Venom and company mix in 1950s rock 'n' roll, 1970s punk and the faint impression that anyone getting too close to the stage might get stabbed. It's a bizarre cocktail, one made only weirder by the near six-inch quiff atom Venom's scrawny frame and the band's choice to wear sunglasses onstage despite being indoors at night. They're an undeniably compelling proposition, though. Venom brought his own microphone (and theremin, no less) to give him the run of the venue, even singing while flat on his back between the legs of one 'lucky' woman. You'd struggle to pick out a single song as a highlight - other than one which sounded like the theme song to a James Bond film made by mental patients - but Venom and his crew provided pure entertainment throughout their setlist."

"EP Review"

"It’s difficult to know what to expect;either the worst music you’ve ever heard or a kind of psychotic brilliance. It’s the latter and the song titles of this three-track demo meet at the axis point of hilarity and horror, much like the music finds a midway between 70s punk and 50s rock and roll. RockinRollin VampireMan is completely metaphor-free; it really is about a theoretical Nosferatu with a penchant for power chords. “I have to bite, it’s who I am” growls Venom over a curious punk rock riff that seems to be just too slow. The subject matter of the stomachchurningly titled StenchTrench is self-explanatory, but easily the best song here is the closer Attack Of The 50ft Frankenbride, their heaviest tune on the demo with the most swagger. But Venom and company are as much about the visual as they are about the music and their unpredictable stage presence is part of what makes them special, certainly an impressive demo, but also a peerless live act." - Left Lion

"Rescue Rooms 01/04/11"

DICK VENOM & THE TERRORTONES were about as different a product to the first act as you could possibly ask for. A raucous blast of real rock, they had the crowd, which had swelled considerably by the time they came onto stage, buzzing. Lead singer Dick Venom - complete with huge blonde mohican and lacking in upper body wear – has the art of showman down to a tea. Never still for a second he rolled, gyrated, groped and bounced his way both around the stage and into the crowd through an entertaining set. Ending with an excellent cover of Electric Six’s Gay Bar, the band exited to a huge applause. This is a band you can expect to hear a lot more of in the coming months. - Nottingham Live
