die Kinder

BandRockEDM

The die Kinder manifesto is to write melodic, danceable rock for late night mash-ups and electro ballads for the morning after. Theirs is a soundtrack for random encounters and nocturnal excess, for amorous connections, and for those who just want to shake it up.

Biography

Spawned from a chance meeting in the summer of 2006, die Kinder is an NYC based duo consisting of vocalist Georgia Haege and multi-instrumentalist Nicholas Bacon. Discovering each other at an automat in the wee hours of the morning after a hard night of drink and debauchery, the two realized their shared passion for cheap eats and electro rock. After an epiphany that they might be long-lost siblings who needed to share their musical leanings with one another, they soon began a songwriting collaboration.

Australian-born Georgia brings the powerhouse vocals, and native New Yorker Nick takes care of the instrumental sides of things, including guitars, keyboards and programming. Both have extensive stage and recording experience: Nick was a long time member of Pilfers (Mojo/Universal) and Lost City Angels (Nitro and Staygold/Universal) and toured the USA, Europe and South America. Georgia fronted The Strines (I.N.S Records), touring the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Wisely deciding to focus on the musical DNA they shared, Georgia and Nick conceived die Kinder (German for "the children").

Drawing from influences such as Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Blondie and Berlin, to more recent artists such as The Rapture and The Faint, the duo's debut recording titled 'needs (ep)' was released in May of 2008.

Lyrics

This City

Written By: Georgia Haege and Nicholas Bacon

V1:
This city got a vice grip on my head
And these people never listened to one word I’ve said
And I’ve got to, got to get outta here
The party’s getting late and all the trains have gone (yeah they’ve gone)

V2:
This night burns me right to the core
Like a diamond from the embers of a piece of coal
All the things you said as I walked out the door
All the things you said, well I want more (so much more)

Chorus:
So stop, stop the pressure
Let’s start, measure by measure

Bridge:
I’m sick and tired of this useless charade (2nd bridge: stupid display)
When you say you suffered
Only so much water this ship can take
So dry your tears, I say

V3:
Just like those diamonds from a lump of coal
All the things you said, well I’m not sold
This night burns me down to the ground
Let it burn, I love to hear that sound

Chorus (now listen up boy!)

2nd Bridge

Chorus (‘Cause I don’t wanna hear it again. Beware of what you say. ‘Cause I don’t wanna hear it again.

V4:
On the mountaintop above the neon lights
Sitting at the end of this world tonight
This city wasn’t all you said it would be
Gotta get away or got to give up me
(watch the things you say, I don’t wanna hear them. Watch the things you say in this city…)

Got What I Need

Got What I Need

V1:
Saw you at the party so late, so late last night
You looked so good I just couldn’t sit so tight
Had to move over to walk past your eyes and your hands
I watched you spill your glass

Wore my pink mini and my thigh high boots
Tell you all the naughty things I want to do
So take my hand there’s a place where we can can go
Upstairs, where we can turn the lights down low

Pre chorus:
Come close and leave your secrets with me
Baby I’m begging you, begging you please

Chorus:
Yeah you got what I need
I wanna take you to the inside
Right side left side any side do it again
Yeah you got what I need

(So hard to please/ Down on my knees/ Begging you please)

V2:
Searching searching for diamonds in the dark
Hearts burn with just one callous spark
You’re the con and I’m the easy mark
I’m the bait, you’re my prey for today

Bridge:
Yeah it’s true, I came over to you
Surprise myself with these things that I do
You wrapped it up before I was through with you...

V3:
I saw you and I had you
Now I have you for my game tonight
I dreamed you, when I find you
Look behind you, you’re in my sights

Debt Collector

Written By: die Kinder

I’m sitting down this time
Uncrowded and the lights are low
A nervous smile subsides I see
In your eyes a hollow glow

And now it’s just a daydream
The way you came to me
Doing all those silly things
Taking everything you thought was free

But there’s something that you stole when you thought I wasn’t looking,
Trying to distract me

And now, call me the debt collector
Put it back, into my satchel of leather
There’s an interest to be paid in full
For hearts dealt blows so cruel

You taxed a low wage heart
Abused all control
Now I’m broke and bankrupted
You passed I paid the toll

This is all I’m left with
A pocketful of shame
Burned all my bank notes
As I watched you slip away

Don’t you know you signed on the dotted line?
The very first time that you said, “You’re mine
I don’t want you back this heart I must protect
But I’ll see you soon, for this debt I must collect.
