"Local NYC Rock Band DIGAMY"

Just the sound of the name raises questions. Who (or what) is Digamy?
Since their "Listen To Digamy" sticker began popping up in 2007, the band has emerged into the underground NYC scene. Digamy is far from your typical punk rock band. They're sound revolves around a foundation of noise rock and american punk rock. The music is cultural and free formed and has a distinct uniqueness to it. Digamy has doven into their own aura, causing their music to be just as impactful as hearing their name for the first time.

David Guevara, the bands guitarist and singer says "Digamy has been a band that has seen its fair share of line ups, but what the pleasure i take is in knowing that each person i have played with over the years, has left their own distinct flavor to it. You can say Digamy is the band EVERYONE has been in. And everyone is welcome to listen to."

since starting the band back in 2005, David, has taken the role as the driving force of the band, recording the 5 track "A Shape Named SayTen" demo which is credit to the bands "local buzz".

In 2008, Vlad Berlin, Digamy's bassist joined the band. Originally being a fan of the music, it only seemed like the proper step to take to see his favorite local band succeed. Vlad also takes part of Digamy's songwriting contributing one of their more preffered songs "Vlad's Song" which will be making an appearance on Digamy's next studio album coming out 2009.

Also in 2008, David's longtime friend Elijah Catrone joined the band as their drummer. Elijah and David attended the same schools and over the years shared experienced both musical and influential to their lives and the paths they take. Elijah and David are currently attempting to establish they're ongoing project "Astoria Music". A indie based procution company from Astoria New York. When asked where they idea came about David and Elijah had this to say "Astoria has a alot of dreams, we feel it's our jobs to get them out of their heads and into real life. Leaving not one dream behind in hopes of creating a more coloful world."

Digamy is currenlty a leading force in the local scene, playing Manhattan's clubs and venues frequently. They are currently preparing for a battle of the bands this dec. 7th. for a chance to win a chance to record and work with some of the music industries more established and experienced people. The band member however say that it is not just for the money or the 15 minutes of fame. "Digamy represents what we beleive in ourselves, in no way do we really want to win money or a free trip to who knows where. We are only being real about it. If it's helping us get out there we will do it. No questions asked. It's our better judgment that keeps us on top. And it's going to be our good desicions that get us where we want. No matter what, there is not enough money that will make us get lost in the crowd, not when we can stand above it."

Bio

Leading the pack on lead vocals and guitar is the talented David Guevara. He can make his guitar weep one moment and the next moment (with the help of distorion) he can create an array of noises that just plain rock. His vocals are powerful and peirce right through the ears of their listeners letting them know that he has something to say.

Vlad, the laid-back bassist creates the thumping sound of Digamy's beating heart. He plays the funkiest sounding (and looking bass) to exist and through it all, creates a beat that makes you want to move. He also brings it home on their hit Jonestown Future when he belts out vocals that are sure to capture everyones attention and bring them to their knees.
Digamy's drummer pounds the drums heavily and articuletly to give his punk rock aggression a soothing and tasteful touch. Together they make the heaviest, most rockin', rythem section this side of the 59th Street Bridge.

The power trio has remained local, playing bars and clubs in Astoria, raking in the fans everytime. They've shared the stage with the best NYC has to offer and continue their chase for the light at the end of the tunnel. While Digamy is still an 'underground band' they have recently played big stages including the Astoria Music and Arts 5 Day Rock Oddysey and the yearly Astoria Music Now! Festival where first time listeners and fans of all ages enjoyed their fast hard rock sound.

Combining an amazing blend of driving and dynamic original music, with the freedom of punk rock and noise, Digamy's musical extravanganza will keep all audiences entertained, smiling, rocking out, laughing and having an amazing time.
Minds will blow, heads will be turned, and bodies will move, all from the exuberance and intoxication brought to them by DIGAMY.
