“Utterly captivating. Exuberant musicianship, sparkling wit and pure energy.
Technically brilliant... and so natural, you couldn't imagine it any other way. An
enchanting musical cocktail.”

Lorsch, 10.06.2006

“...hip...an urban, blended form of music... a thrilling concert."
Frankfurter Rundschau, 02.06.2006
“Stunning vitality...extremely rich sounds that lift the spirit…laid-back humour...”

Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung,
08.03.2006

“Brilliant...irrepressible...and deeply melancholic. This is a complex sensation and it's
aroused by equally complex music. The album “Berlin Wedding” takes the band's style
into new territory...deeper grooves, bigger beats, more metropolitan…”

Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung, 01.03.2006

”DI GRINE KUZINE gave the best concert of the opening night at this most ethnic of
all our festivals.”
”For several critics, DI GRINE KUZINE played the best concert of the entire festival.
Sensuous, sparkling and provocative, the singer Alexandra Dimitroff was one of the
festival’s most striking women.” (Festival review of the FFM Festival, Sines, Portugal)

Jose Manuel Simoes, Correio da Manha (Morgenpost) - collected magazines & newspapers

“...modern dance music par excellence...timeless melodies... a veritable feast... an
international mixture of beats and brass that has found its way onto the menu of
global villages and into the depths of the city.”

JAZZTHETIK 6/06

“**** ... And A. Dimitroff's singing is naturally superb. Delivered with a broad smile.”

WOM Magazin 03/06

“****1/2 .......sharp-witted lyrics.”

ROLLING STONE 2/2006

“Vivacious...melancholic...creative...kitsch...snappy...incredibly versatile.”

GÖTTINGER TAGEBLATT, 03.03.2006

“Sweet metropolis. DI GRINE KUZINE inject hard Balkan rhythms into the pulse of the
city…rap sequences with undiluted Berlin flavour.”

TIP 05/06

“A pop album is one way of looking at it...striding around the music of Europe in
seven-league boots. Berlin has become the linchpin between east and west, a
cultural melting pot...a pulsating rap that finally bridges the gap to New York.”

TAZ, 25.02.2006

“..an exciting blend with the irresistible urge to dance... not folk but pop.”

BERLINER MORGENPOST, 25.02.2006

“..East European but not countrified... You get the impression of being invited to a
fabulous party...Like many other elements, it's pure Berlin when A. Dimitroff sings
Bulgarian.”

ND, 25.2.2006

“Turbulent and exuberant. Multilingual, danceable”

AUDIO LIVE 3/2006

“Berlin Wedding gets right to the seething heart of contemporary Berlin.”

BLUE RHYTHM Nr. 30

“Music from East and West is combined to form a new whole. Now they're dancing in
the global village. Laß die Augen zu touches your very heartstrings...”

JAZZDIMENSIONS.DE 10.2.2006 - collected magazines & newspapers

Bio

Di GRINE KUZINE has a unique sound, marrying the melodies and harmonies of Central and Eastern Europe with the rhythmic fervour of the metropolis.

The band was founded in 1993. Since then they released four albums and played reams of shows all over Europe. In the Year 2002 they won the German World Music Award RUTH (Global RUTH).
Since 2010 DI GRINE KUZINE works together with flowfish.music and their next album will be released on flowfish.records in Oktober 2010.

"Berlin Wedding" (released 2006) - their fourth album - drew huge acclaim from Rolling Stone Magazine right through to Jazzthetik.

Surging beats, razor-sharp brass and the "stunning vocals of Alexandra Dimitroff" (WOM Magazine) are infused with an exuberant inner spark. Inspiration and devotion elatione, anguish and yearning are all melted together. This irresistible furore brings European clubs and festivals to the boil, for already more then 16 years.
