"Dilly Dally – Casa Del Popolo (Pop Montreal)"

After First You Get The Sugar’s set, I skedaddled off to catch the set of my beloved rowdy gems Dilly Dally, at Casa Del Popolo. Considering I thought I wasn’t going to see them for a while after my NXNE experience, this was a fantastic situation for me. They played a lot of their new songs (which you can get a load of here) but made space for their old ones too (which you can hear, here) and their set was all in all compact, energetic, and effective. - The Main Montreal

"Dilly Dally - Candy Mountain"

And in other news of amazing things happening in Toronto, these guys are some of my all-time favourites.

Great lyrics, moody melodies and dynamically huge, washed in reverb and moaned and hummed by a lady with a killer voice.

Their next full record is coming very soon, but in the meantime, you can listen up and check in here.
- we fucking love music (blog)

"Halifax Pop Explosion 2010 Day Four"

It was then down the street to the Paragon Theatre for Toronto’s Dilly Dally. I hadn’t heard of them before but they were pretty appealing in their punky (though not especially punk) rock, which came liberally drenched in grease and snot, but also with a dollop of melody and attitude. About midway through their set frontwoman Katie Monks mentioned her brother’s band would be playing later that night, and something snapped into place – you could hear some of the same record collection DNA that informs Tokyo Police Club’s sound in Dilly Dally’s, but while rougher, the latter is potentially more interesting. Their set lasted barely 30 minutes and exhausted their entire repertoire, but it was more than enough to impress. They have a couple of Toronto shows coming up – The Tranzac tomorrow night, October 27, and The Garage on November 5. - Chromwaves

Bio

"Epic-stoner-sludge-pop" would be the best way to describe Toronto's beloved four-piece, Dilly Dally. Katie Monks' songwriting talks about being young and wreckless, feeling crappy, and falling in love with a lot of sexy people.....sometimes she also just howls. Drenched in reverb, her best friend Liz Ball on lead guitar swims in and out of Monks' crackling voice. Fuzz petals turned up to high, the epic band still performs with a shy-ish charm playing only to them selves in a room full of howling wolves.
