Dimitri Nassar Trio

Jazz, an improvisational genre by its very nature, has produced some of the industry’s most eclectic music and colorful performers since its inception almost a century ago. From hard swinging standards, original compositions, or romantic ballads, Dimitri Nassar works to continue the great musical tradition of his jazz idols. Already a member of the South Carolina State University Jazz Hall of Fame since 1995, Dimitri Nassar’s considerable talents have also been recognized by Ohio’s TriC and Lakeland Jazz Festivals and the Count Basie Jazz Festival in Hampton, Virginia.

The Dimitri Nassar Trio has been featured at Mary Washington University Multicultural Fest, Congressional Black Caucus, Virginia Beach Neptune Festival, and The National Cherry Blossom Festival. The Dimitri Nassar Trio is a 2009 Finalist in the Chick Webb Jazz Competition. Educated at the South Carolina State University, with a B.S. in Music Education, as well as work towards an advanced degree at The University of Maryland and Boston University. Dimitri Nassar has since taken on protégés with the establishment of the Dimitri Nassar Piano Studio (2002) www.danassarpiano.com On the local level, Mr. Nassar has worked as an award-winning Anne Arundel and Prince Georges Counties Public Schools middle school Chorus Director, as well as an in-demand private piano instructor.
