Dimitri & The Scarecrow

Diimitri Kwenda is a composer who has unlimited rhythmically applied poetry ability and works on digital software (Fruity Loops/Reason) in order to articulate his musical expression. Dimitri however, has always created his music with a consciousness for live instrumentation and thus wants to create a band. Dimitri discovers "The Open Mic Night" which is held at The Book Cafe in Harare, Zimbabwe and proceeds to request that a guy named Frank (Francis Jiri) to play him a bass riff which has been plaguing his mind for a long time. Frank obliges with skepticism until he hears the lyrics from Dimitri. Week after week Dimitri suddenly has himself backed by an average of 5 musicians on various instruments... Here begins the story of Dimitri & The Scarecrow. Exact dates documenting this extraordinary story are unknown but it is believed the band was formed in the 21 Century around October-ish 2012AD. The combination of ideas and musical expression has brought together a hard rock loving group of instrumentalists and a multi-genre loving hip-hop head, thus creating hard hitting alternative hip-hop/rock! Screw the influences, this is a whole new chapter in history...waiting to happen!
