Dimmer Switch take fast alt-rock sound and mash it head on with punk rock guitar riffs, and heavy hitting drums on their new EP Not The Stereo-Type. The second song, “Mark My Word” starts out with a metal sounding guitar riff before settling into a more pop-punk sounding palm muted verse–a great example of the band’s style.
The overall sound of the record falls somewhere between Alkaline Trio and Foo Fighters, moving smoothly between radio-friendly punk rock and modern alternative. Dimmer Switch is a great example of the Best 303 Sounds family that they represent–a hard working band that is rapidly growing their fan base with an enthralling, catchy sound, and this EP is only going to help them continue to grow.

Bio
With their in-your-face hard rock guitars and driving drum rhythms, Dimmer Switch from Denver, Colorado has set out to put a new spin on a familiar style of alternative punk rock. Everett, Lee, Chris and Tomas have worked tirelessly over the last few years to write, create, and promote their hard rock/punk rock style of tight changes, screaming solos, and melodic songwriting that attracts fans of... bands like Unwritten Law, Alkaline Trio, and Thrice.
On the band’s 2012 debut EP “Not the Stereo-Type”, Dimmer Switch weaves tales of breakups, revenge, and self preservation through a burst of raw guitars and pulsing drum beats. The electricity and energy of the EP’s recordings are enhanced in their high octane live performances which seek to connect Dimmer Switch with their growing fan base, all the while staying true to their humble roots planted in their Mile High City home.
