Bio

Claudino de Jesus Borges Pereira was born in Portugal 30 years ago, in a small village of Algarve, Quarteira, where lived his parents of Cape Verdean origins. Although he had very early the opportunity to listen to the rehearsals of the choir which his parents held in the parish, his interest first went to painting. It was only in 2003 that Dino embraced a musical career when he made it to the finals of a television music contest he had only accompanied a friend to cast for.

That event totally changed Dinos life. He joined the group Jaguar in 2004 and finally released (under the name of Dino SoulMotion) his first solo album untitled Me and my Beloved in 2008 on which features Tito Paris among others. Along with Virgul (DaWeasel), he founded Nu Soul Family the following year. Together they won the MTV award for Best Portuguese Act with the track This Is For My People.

Later on, his father took him to discover his roots island Santiago which deeply left its mark on Dino. The artist wanted to try to fuse Africa beats with Fado, he changed his stage name to Dino dSantiago and travelled back to Cape Verde once more. He came back with feelings, experience and maturity and put all three in a new album called Eva.

Eva is the mother of us all and the symbol of Dinos travel toward its origins in Santiago island. This album is me what I see and feel, what I believe in, looking for love and simplicity. Eva expresses what is common to us all, binding us to the Eden Garden.

Including collaborations with Sara Tavares, Hernani and Jay among other artists, the mix of Cape Verdean creole with Portuguese makes this album a representative blend of the unique sounds from Portuguese speaking countries.
