Diogo Brown

The bass player, song writer, producer and percussionist Diogo Brown was born in the city of Niteri, Rio de Janeiro Brazil , started his career as musician playing keyboard at the age of 9, and later turned to the bass. He studied on Villa Lobos Hi-School, and on University of Rio De Janeiro getting influences like: Jazz, Bossa Nova , Samba, Latin Jazz and others. He played with professional artists of Brazilian Music like Mariana Martin , Paulo Moura, Marcos Ariel , Banda Black Rio, Barrosinho, Z Paulo Backer and Aleh including Jonh Michalak, Kiki Sanchez, Jim Ryan, Ira Sullivan, Jonh Melnick , Tom Harney and Glen Kolotkin on USA. In 2005 Diogo Brown recorded the soundtrack of the movie about the Brazilian soccer player Ronaldo Gaucho, on the same year he has acted in, played and recorded for the movie "The Machine" of Joo Falco, released in Brazil, Europe, and the USA In the Miami and New York Festivals . Diogo Also recorded the soundtrack of show "the Little Prince" Adapted in Portuguese by Joo Falco, and played on the "Eco show" , by Cyro Barcellos, realized in Paris and all over Brazil. In 2007, Diogo Brown released the show of his first instrumental CD entitled "Daqui Pro Mundo" (Here to the world), recorded at Rio De Janeiro and Miami, produced for himself , at Arturo Sandoval Jazz Club with most of the tracks of his writing. The CD brings different grooves with Jazz harmonies mixed to the most varied Brazilian rhythms like Afoxe ,Bossa Nova, Baio, Samba-funk and Partido Alto, including electronic elements from Drum bass, to reach a new sonority, with greats especial guests like Mike Orta, Oscar Salas, Ivo Stuivenberg , Gabriel Grossi, Marcio Bahia and others. Diogo Brown Also realized some classes on Florida Atlantic University (FAU), beside Dr. James, teaching some different Brazilian rhythms, on the percussion and the bass bringing and showing a little bit from his culture . Now Diogo Brown , still making shows giving classes and workshops of Brazilian Grooves like Samba, Baiao , Samba Funk , on Pandeiro and on the Bass of course
