"DioMara Releases Her First Single Off Of Her Upcoming EP Black Pearls"

Long Island, NY (April 7, 2013) Panamanian, Pop/R&B Fusion artist, DioMara from Long Island, NY, releases her first single To The Topfeaturing rapper TuNe$ off of her debut EP Black Pearls. This song was produced by Hazali of FortheLovers Music, who was recently featured on NBC News for creating a music production program in Brooklyn’s elementary school and is currently adding the program in other elementary schools. With only the snippet of the song released a few weeks ago, DioMara has been receiving great responses of the song and has been compared to R&B’s greatest singers like Monica, Brandy and Beyonce.

DioMara incorporates different genres in her music, which is why she created her own genre Pop/R&B Fusion. Her sound and lyrics are pop and r&b base but her music is a mixture of different genres. She doesn’t want to be boxed into one category like many other artists. She is letting her audience know now so that it doesn’t surprise them later when they hear a song that is completely different from the other. She believes in her craft, and as a writer, singer and performer she is a perfectionist. She wants her listeners to love every song she makes. Her goal is to have longevity in the music industry.

Currently, she is working with Hazali, who is the executive producer of her debut EP called Black Pearls. The chemistry between the two is authentic. The soulful productions by Hazali and the melodic and heartfelt lyrics by DioMara create enchanting music. After hearing the music by this duo or seeing a performance from DioMara, the audience will leave humming the melodies or singing the words after hearing it once. This is a project everyone wants to make sure they have on their playlist. Black Pearls is set to be released Spring/Summer 2013! - YSD Magazine

"New Pop/R&B Artist "Diomara Delvalle""

Diomara Delvalle, a R&B/Pop singer, was born June 6, 1990 in Brooklyn,NY with a Panamanian background. She began singing as soon as she was able to speak. When she was in the 10th grade she started taking her music seriously and began performing. Her first performance was for Central Idol, a spin-off of American Idol, at Valley Stream High School which she won. Later, she was on the Showtime at the Apollo where she was in 1st place, 3rd place and ended at 4th place. She went off to college at Hofstra University and started singing for the basketball games and other events. Now that she graduated from college she hopes to take her passion for singing even further.

She decided to sing professionally when she realized every time she sang she felt comfortable. She knew she had the ability to do it and loved doing it. She grew up listening to Whitney Houston, Selena and Mariah Carey. She listened to their songs and trained her voice which helped with her vocal range. Currently she listens to Beyonce. “I like power house voices,” said Diomara Delvalle.

Diomara Delvalle wants her music to go beyond her song book, family and friends. She wants to reach as many people as she can especially internationally. Diomara Delvalle feels music is not where it used to be or at least where it could be. She wants to incorporate different genres in her music. Diomara Delvalle’s music is based on what she has experienced or seen others experienced. She wishes for her music to be long lasting with substance for years to come.

Diomara Delvalle released her 1st single called This Time on June 1, 2012. This Time was produced by Fewtcha who produced several songs for artists like Sean Lyric, Rovetta Alana and many others. When you listen to the song you can hear different sounds like R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, and Reggae. It’s pure music. The concept behind This Time is about a couple who makes up to break up.

"Soror Spotlight Diomara Delvalle"

There's something special about Soror Diomara Delvalle. You wouldn't guess that underneath her quiet demeanor and soft speech is a vocal powerhouse. This soror recently snagged a ticket to perform at Boule by winning the Annie Neville Talent Award at the 70th Northeast Regional Conference, graduated from Hofstra University and released her first single all this year!

We took a moment to ask Soror Delvalle seven questions about her life, love of music and all things blue and gold. And if you haven't heard it yet, we've also attached her FIRST single.

Cheers to Soror Delvalle (and Happy Belated Birthday!!)

Leave a comment and tell us what you think of her single "This Time"

The Sophisticate -When did you first start singing?

DD: I first realized when I was in elementary school playing around with my cousin singing in the mirror. I decided to take it further and started to write music in 7th grade. I decided to start a professional career when I was in 10th grade with my first performance at the Apollo Theater. It was a great experience.

The Sophisticate -What are your future goals?

DD:My goals are to become a recording artist and [an] all around performer. I want to not only be successful but to be great! I want to make the kind of music that will last a lifetime. Ive always dreamed of winning a grammy.

The Sophisticate -What will you bring that's unique to the music industry?

DD:Well I write my own music and just my passion and talent. To be honest the industry is not like it used to be as far as content in music. I feel I will bring not only the image desired but the drive, dedication and talent to match.

The Sophisticate -What made you pursue membership in Sigma Gamma Rho?

DD:I pursued membership into Sigma Gamma Rho because of how open and down to earth the members on the campus of Hofstra University were. What solidified my decision was the rich history. Sigma Gamma Rho is unlike any other sorority and the history is unique in itself. I [am constantly inspired by the] the strength, determination, persistence and wisdom that it took for our seven founders to create such an illustrious organization on a predominantly white campus during the intense times of racism.

The Sophisticate -How has being a soror affected your musical career?

DD:Being a soror allowed me to have an even larger family than what I was born into and with this provides greater support and much more opportunities. Because Sigma Gamma Rho spands across the US and internationally there's a larger network of support, which I greatly appreciate.

The Sophisticate -What's next for you? (new single? video?)

DD:Well I do have a single out. My first one!! It is called "This Time". You can download it on Reverbnation and Soundcloud! There is also a video up on YouTube! I am currently working on an EP [FYI EP (Extended Play) is a short album of about 4-5 songs] so I'll definitely keep everyone updated on that.

The Sophisticate -What advice do you have for sorors that want to pursue being an artist (musical or otherwise)?

DD:My advice would be to never give up and remain optimistic regardless of the hardships. Stay true to yourself and what you want to accomplish. This road to success will not be easy at all but have faith and love your craft. Sorors, as well as friends and family will definitely keep you grounded.

And there you have it! Another edition of Soror Spotlight. Til next time!
