Dionne Blaize

Tall stately, beautiful and blessed with a powerful/seductive voice. That's how one would describe the very talented Dionne Blaize who burst on Brooklyn's entertainment and music scene recently with her brand new album "Still Standing", which is getting great reviews. Although, Dionne is fond of telling people that she literally started singing before she could talk. It was her mother who told Dionne that as an infant, she would make cooing baby noises and try to imitate the songs her mother sang to her. Dionne loves to sing as much as she loves people. Her songwriting ability became evident when she was only 13 years old. From the time Dionne was 5 years old she knew she wanted to pursue a professional career in music.

Dionne’s enduring spirit is a gift from her parents and her confidence comes from knowing that she has “people” around her, watching her back. Dionne grew up in a musical home filled with love.

Her determination to make good music regardless of life’s obstacles stems from her father’s dedication to a self-taught musical career. Not having the money to pay for music lessons, he taught himself how to sing and play the piano. Dionne's parents emigrated from the caribbean island of Grenada, where they raised her and three other children in Brooklyn, New York, an area whose cultural diversity continues to inspire her work. Her formal introduction to music was through the gospel choir at her Church.

Critics and enthusiastic listeners alike have commented on Dionne’s strong musicality and dedication to her craft. More important to Dionne however, is her desire to not just make great music, but to also have her music touch people's hearts
