Biography

Patrick (UK) and Atman (Singapore) formed DIPHTHONG SOUND CLUB to produce chill ethnic electronic lounge music featuring Atman's evocative flute compositions. Diphthong Sound Club are in the vein of Cafe Del Mar and Bhudda Bar and are distinguished by their varied styles ranging from transcendental club to film.

Atman and Patrick are award-winning musicians - in 2009 and 2008 they reached the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest. One of their successful tracks - Iota - is being released in December on WOA Records' Goa Chillout Zone Volume 3. Iota is sensual and haunting, evoking the cool lounges of the Far East. They got airplay in May 2010 on BBC Bristol who called them "fantastic".
Their road to this modest success began in Singapore in 2002 where they formed a 5-piece eclectic ethnic band ‘Sutra Asia’ playing gigs in Hard Rock Café and other venues. When Sutra Asia split up in 2003 Patrick and Atman continued working together and gigged in the tourist heartland of Singapore during 2005. They are now compiling material for their first album to launch Winter 2009/2010 and planning to play in festivals in UK in Summer 2010.
