With his mellowed out acoustic rock guitar and gritty rock vocals Dirk Boon is really turning heads. Dirk has been playing and singing for 6 years and is now recording his newest cd for release in 2009. His disciplined guitar style shows the amount of concentration he has put into his career. Dirk also has a raspy rock voice that is sure to impress along with his slower style of rock. His new album set to debut in 2009 is sure to rock the socks off any listeners.
Dirk started playing when he was 14 and has never
slowed down one bit. He was never a singer to start,
just a guitar player but as the time went by he
realized his true calling. He started off in a Band
called Insasitate that released one studio album
and had success with their live shows.
After a few years the bands creative differences
split them apart. Dirk then began his solo career.
At the age of 19 Dirk applied and was accepted
into the Independent music production course
and Seneca College. This was when Dirk knew he
was really meant to pursue Music as a career.
Dirk has been compared to artists such as Jonh Mayer and Dallas Green, but he still has very strong influences from bands such as Led Zeppelin
and Pink Floyd. Even though most of his new music involves acoustic guitars and vocals it will never be a surprise to hear some heavier rock and roll thrown into the mix. Dirk does not believe in musical
borders and this is why its always exciting to see what kind of song he will write next.
