"Ondes Chocs reviews Dirt Cannon opening for Bam Margera / CKY"

"I was really taken back by how much energy they had right off the bat and really made full use of the stage. They had two vocals and the main vocalist went back and forth from Mick Jagger to James Brown moves. I found they were a great start to the show, a real crowd warmer. With driving nu-metal, punk drum beats, southern rock guitar riffs and a nu-metal/core vocal, they did not feel as if they had just stepped out of a garage by any means [...]. The band really played as a whole and was having a great time doing it. I definitely recommend seeing this band if your into this style of music. They gave me a warm happy feeling after seeing them." - Ondes Chocs

"Ondes Chocs reviews Dirt Cannon's perfomance (Montreal's Underworld)"

"I've heard good things about this Montreal's north shore band, but the energy level of those 5 guys is practically indescribable... It's always great to see a band give all they got, whoever's there to watch them play." - Ondes Chocs

Dirt Cannon has released their first album, GET BEATEN, on October 31st 2012. Available through Bandcamp, it was independantly produced and features ten tracks of melodic, southern rock-ish hardcore. Also featured on two of its songs are musician friends Ben Landreville (Despised Icon, Harriers) and JF Sugar (Hey Sugar). The music video for its first single, A DYING BREED, has already gathered more than 8900 views on BlankTV's Youtube channel.

This LP follows up on the remarkable online success of Dirt Cannon's EP released in May 2011. Freely available across the Internet, it has been downloaded more than 2200 times through demo.dirtcannon.com and its songs have been individually played a total of 4000 times on Soundcloud.

Formed in 2011, Montreal's Dirt Cannon is composed of remnants of long running local acts, most notoriously September Is Falling (Bad Samaritan Records), Crimson Red and Locked And Loaded. Through the years, its members have played hundreds of stages around Quebec and eastern Ontario, featured alongside talents such as Alexisonfire, Gallows, Dead And Divine, BigWig, Silverstein, even friends from Dance Laury Dance and Hey Sugar.

The band has been greatly influenced by the sound and style of rock-ish harcore groups such as Every Time I Die and The Bronx, but take its roots in classic hard rock and metal bands. Emphasizing on melody driven guitar riffs and vocals, Dirt Cannon makes a point of delivering an "as live as you can" brand of hard rock hardcore and tight, high energy performances.

Dirt Cannon has released their first LP, GET BEATEN, in 2012, and will be releasing their second effort, TOUGH LOVE, this summer. Still, they continue on travelling the province, striving to spread their rock'n'roll vibrations as much and as far as they can.
