Dirty Mother Nation

BandRockAlternative

Great Music for fans of Daughtry, Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace, Dirty Mother Nation makes their presence felt with soulful melodies over heavy, original rock rhythms and a contagiously energetic live show.

Biography

Dirty Mother Nation came together in the fall of 2003 and quickly began developing a name for themselves on the local rock scene. Originally the brainchild of brothers Matt and Dan Douglas, the bands sound was filled out by guitarist Paul Lucenti and vocalist Lonny Friedland in the fall of 2003.

After a short incubation period, the band began taking their high-energy, melodic songs to the stage. Practically overnight, the band established a solid fan-base of devotees. It isnt uncommon to hear the crowd singing along to all of the songs at a Dirty Mother Nation show.

At this point, the band has been playing gigs locally, regionally and abroad for the past three years. Their high-profile shows include a headlining slot at CBGBs and a short tour of Brazil, culminating in a live TV performance. Recently, the band has released a three song demo and added guitarist Sean Kerrigan . Dirty Mother Nation is a rising force to be reckoned with on the New York rock scene. Come and find out why.

Lyrics

The Siren's Song

Written By: Lonny Friedland and Dirty Mother Nation

Verse 1:

Theres no angels in the projects
Theres no choice there but to lose
They're all just waiting around, waiting for a sign that theres something to do
I wish I knew the answer
I wish I knew just what was wrong
Instead, I push my foot down on the gas and move right along
I can't tell you how to fight
I can't even tell you the reasons why

Chorus:

But, we can't be here
Its gone on too long, this can't be
We can't be here
If you open your ears you'll hear the child scream
As the siren's sing
Out their song in the night to the land of the free...
For how long will they scream?

Verse 2:

This morning I woke up early
I grabbed a coffee and read the news
I couldn't believe all of the terrible things that other people do
I can't believe I'm part of it. I feel I've been a part all along
And I'm tired of waiting around for someone else to put right whats wrong.
How can I tell you what is right...
When you only see in black and white?

Chorus Repeats

Everything You Are

Written By: Lonny Friedland and Dirty Mother Nation

Once upon a time
you saw us living happily
ever after

You were so sure
you had me buying it, too
til something changed in you

And now you're not the same, but could you...

Tell me what you wanted to be
And I'll tell you everything you are
But, God forbid that you should ever try to take your life
For you'd have nothing left to give

You were the source of
the pain and stress thats in my life
I was the love of yours

Oh, you gave
things I never asked you for
and things I did not want

Could you take them back, and just

Tell me what you wanted to be
And I'll tell you everything you are
But, God forbid that you should ever try to take your life
For you'd have nothing left to give

Now I'm left here
feeling diseased and depraved
like I'm not a man

Hearing stories
about you and another man
Well I tell you one, tell you one, one thing

Thats fine with me, but could you

Tell me what you wanted to be
And I'll tell you everything you are
But, God forbid that you should ever try to take your life
For you'd have nothing left to give

Precious Little Lies

Written By: Lonny Friedland and Dirty Mother Nation

Try not to want me too much
'cause you'll just cause me trouble
I can't handle what you got to give
I can't handle being together

You're too good for me, you're too good
I don't deserve what you've got
Maybe someday I'll be able to
See what you were given

Never ever ever will I ever believe
All your precious little lies
Never again will I be diseased
By the love between your thighs
You've been barkin up the wrong tree
And I think it's time that you turn around
Never ever ever will I ever believe all your precious little lies
