" Mistys Big Adventure, Dirty Scavenger, Peep Show Voyeurs Prince Albert, 11th May 2009 Owain Paciuszko"

Three-piece Dirty Scavenger were up next and the first and most apprarent thing about this group was the technical skill of both the lead-guitarist/singer and the bass player, not to belittle the drummer's contribution, he was good. They played occasionally proggish, emotionally charged rock and did so with huge skill, intelligence and an ear for a good tune. Lead singer Jo's lyrics were acerbic, bitter and fiery, and coupled with the eye-popping skill she was simultaneously displaying on the guitar, it was an amazing sight; especially on the song The Grudge. I look forward to seeing them again. - God Is In The TV Zine

"Annie Christensen, A&R Island Records"

Dirty Scavenger
Wow I love it. She has a really interesting voice.
Her songs are great.
I like her photos she has some great live ones and good press shots too. Her MySpace is not over crowded but it doesn't need to be.
I'd love to come and see her live. I'll definitely be coming down to the UBR night in Brighton.
Really interesting this one. - UNSIGNED BAND REVIEW

"Reviewer: Simon Hargreaves UNSIGNED BAND REVIEW"

Dirty Scavenger and their singer Jo Maultby in particular have a very interesting sound....I really like the way she changes her intonation to make certain lyrics stand more than others and I like the heavy backing (not so crazy about the more folk tinged tracks). I'm a real sucker for a voice that immediately challenges the listener, so artists like Dirty Scavenger will always appeal to me. The imagery and look of the band as a whole still needs some work, and to appeal to the right media in particular they would have to decide on a more definitive sound and develop/push it. All in all I'd say there is definitely the basis of something with real potential here.......it's like Hazel O'Connor (check Youtube kids - she was awesome) fronting Alice In Chains.......and why wouldn't people wanna hear that! - Reviewer: Simon Hargreaves UNSIGNED BAND REVIEW

"Reviewed by DJ James Theaker"

Grunge/ Rock/ Brighton. Nice combo. Let's have a listen to 'The Grudge'. I like the overall style of this track, it would be good to see live because it's got that big warm bass sound, very grungey. They have a few live dates booked in as well which is good to see. I'm often DJing in Brighton, so may well pop in and see them play before my next DJ set! - UBR

Bio

Jo Maultby (a.k.a Dirty Scavenger) started her music career busking on the streets of Guildford at the age of 15. Her songs are based on her struggles and life experiences, which she portrays with grungy guitar melodies and powerful rock vocals. Influenced by guitar heroes such as Jimmy Page and Hendrix, and often likened to Janis Joplin and Alanis Morrissette on vocals, Jo has performed in front of audiences ranging from a handful to 10,000, and has toured both nationally and internationally.
