Bio

Disappear Completely is the brain child of trombonist Rob Ewing. The group brings together a diverse group of improvising musicians to interpret the music of Radiohead. "I wanted to bring some of my favorite musicians together to play new arrangements of some of my favorite songs, " says Ewing. The group had its debut performance at the Jazzschool in Berkeley in March of 2006, playing to a packed and enthusiastic house. "I spent about 4 months working on the arrangements and I knew these guys would sound great, " Ewing says, " but the players really brought something special to the music that night." Drummer/Vocalist Jamie Moore recalls, " I was really amazed by the amount of trust among improvisers." While intially conceived as a one night only project, enthusiasm amongst the band and audience made a more enduring musical relationship seem natural. "This is the type of group that will bring new inspiration to this music time and again, everyone in the group is really excited about the project, " Ewing says, " but I sure am glad we captured the debut performace on tape. That recording really captures the sound of the group. It's a raw sound, full of feeling and trust, something I've been working towards for a long time."
