Bio
The Sea represents many different things to many different people. Perhaps to some it is a source of fear, anger, or frustration for its unforgiving depths of darkness. Others will emphasize its beauty, serenity, and mystery in glorifying the void. Yet, the Sea can be an allegorical figure, with many tales of danger, heroism, and tragedy it is apart of us as much as we are a part of it.
Disaster at Sea seeks to represent all of the human psyche through instrumentation and vocalization. Like the Sea, we can feel cold and lifeless, but at other times overjoyed and serene. The mind is a large sea in and of itself and only by expanding can one discover its limits.
Hailing from Jackson, Mississippi and currently attending the University of Mississippi in Oxford, the band is comprised of two brothers and one of their great friends. Drew and Paul Dean along with Clay Hastings have played together in previous bands, but not until now have the felt certainity. They seek to celebrate the unknown and embrace the future. Currently, they are trying to play as many shows as possible, also doing some rough demos from their home.
