Bio

Coming from a musical based family where his mother led the church choir and having a brother known for being a greatly respected producer, Rodney "D.I.S.C.I.P.L.E" Ahenkan - believe it or not had no interest in going on the musical path. The pressure of filling the shoes of his family really intimidated him and he always to avoid anything musical, period.

Throughout the seasons ahead, the talent to write poetry grew more and more so D.I.S.C.I.P.L.E went to venture in that field. After hearing "Let It Go" by Kirk Franklin, an overwhelming sensation grew within which led D.I.S.C.I.P.L.E to start writing about his life through poetry. The first major poem that people read was one entitled "Hope on the other side" and with his fear of mounting on stages, the next thing best solution was to show people his writing. Approval after approval and encouragement after encouragement, D.I.S.C.I.P.L.E mucked around with the idea to actually perform the song live.

In 2005 after being born again, there was an enthusiam and passion to move people the same way he was after hearing his musical influence, so when his church youth decided to do a Christian Gospel Party, D.I.S.C.I.P.L.E saw it as "the" opportunity so see whether it was for him. After performing in a packed room with his mother present, tears were everywhere and the feeling of performing began to grow from a hobby to a passion..

From 2006-2008 D.I.S.C.I.P.L.E began writing and collaborating with other artists and started featuring on artists' projects while he was discovering himself in what he was doing. Performing in churches and community events, it was evident that music was the only thing he wanted to do and performing where ever he could was evident.

From 2009 things began to change and D.I.S.C.I.P.L.E wanted to get rid of the performing aspect of his music and focus soley on a ministry point of view so that he could stay true to see if this was the line of work he wanted to do. This led to the debut concept album " In Their Shoes", which talks about the lives and times of people from the bible and adapting them to what is going on in our timr. A concept like this really made D.I.S.C.I.P.L.E go deep with the things of God and began to see the rewards of that.

Now diversifying his range from spoken word, to sermons, poetry and music, D.I.S.C.I.P.L.E with his new mindset has ministered through many parts of QLD, NSW, VIC and an appearance in Perth, he has also toured with 'Your Dream' Seminar, opened for LA christian rapper Sevin with The Commission for the 'I AM Legacy Tour' and was featured on Triple J for "Religious Song Of The Week"

An anticipated Debut album is now the object which has stirred hype, but at the day its all about the Fathers' glory
