DK-Disciple Kputu, aka Joshua Terngu Kputu, was born into the tribe Tiv. He was born January 28th, 1973 in the town of Gboko (Benue State) of Nigeria. He was inspired to use his talents to serve God and to reach others through his spiritual songs. Disciple Kputu began performing Gospel music in December 1999 after completing his education with an OND (ordinary national diploma) in Computer Science.
Nigeria is a multicultural country with more than 400 ethnic groups and is blessed with many human and natural resources and traditions.
The Tiv race (of Benue State, the "Food Basket State") has the best musical culture in the whole federation of Nigeria. Disciple Kputu comes from a compound (polygamous) family-part of the Nigerian culture. From his Tiv parents, he has six brothers, one step sister, one step brother, many first cousins and more. He lost his father at the age of 15. He was dedicated to God from childhood by his loving mother. His boyhood dream was to become a pilot or a musician, and DK thanks God for making one of those dreams a reality. He has recently released an EP of six tracks with three Remix from his forthcoming project, "Beware... Mark of the Beast". He hopes to release a minimum of 15 tracks on this project,
He is a former film show boy-Manager, a real Nigerian model-Afro hip-hop gospel artist. He is a born poet, lyricist and dancer. DK comes from a family of musicians and likes making songs. His future dream is to act in gospel movies.
