"Disco Shed at Big Chill"

“One of the less chilled things happening at the Big Chill festival in the UK this weekend was the Disco Shed. Pitched up in the middle of the site by Oxford based DJ's Peepshow Paddy and Skylarkin. They entertained people with low key DJ sets during the day; supplying deckchairs, a gazebo and lo-fi TV/video players with Jane Fonda work out videos for mass aerobic sessions.

When the club tents and stages closed down on the last night, all those who just didn't want to believe the festival was about to end migrated to the shed for an impromptu rave, cut short only for security reasons.
You can give people well organized festivals but it's this kind of magic that will stick.”

“The Disco Shed was crazily fun. It’s not hard to see why Truck is so often known as ‘like Glastonbury used to be’. - Edward Douglas, Pow Wow Wow

"Disco Shed"

“Hats must be raised first to Aidan (Skylarkin') and Paddy (Peepshow)'s ingenious Disco Shed, in the market area all weekend. Like a more inclusive outdoor Miniscule of Sound, the 'disco shed' puts in an impressive tour of duty keeping a happy crowd dancing and raising smiles from camping passers-by for the majority of the weekend, with sets of almost Tenaglian length from both DJs. Waiting for the toilet to the sound of Josh Wink's 'Higher State of Consciousness' may not help the bladder, but it certainly helps the festival atmosphere.” - www.oxfordbands.com

"Disco Shed"

“And then there was the Disco Shed. It will be a thing of legend, I’m sure: one shed, two blokes, mixing decks and a glittery disco ball. There were plant pots and garden gnomes, all on a little hill where countless people danced well into the night. It was truly magical how good that little shed and the music emanating from it made everyone feel.” - www.godisinthetvzine.co.uk

“I loved…
1. The disco shed in the market field. The best idea at Truck ever. Saturday night, disco lights in the shed, and a crowd of 70-100ish people dancing round it. Fantastic”

“The rain disappears and we power forward to a night of dancing outside the Disco Shed, oh yes, it's a disco which emulates out of a humble shed, and it's a right hoot.

"...we headed back to the trusty Disco Shed to find one half of Hexstatic were doing an unscheduled but utterly amazing DJ set. As the crowd chanted 'last year's headline set, this year's disco shed' we wondered off to bed and watched the dawn break"

Bio

The Disco Shed is festival-lands must-have accessory! Having rocked the allotments for years at The Big Chill, Latitude, Thames Festival, Beachdown, Reading, Cornbury, Truck and countless others, founding shedonists Peepshow Paddy and Count Skylarkin have built a brand-new, souped up shed for summer 2011 - complete with an 8'x6' roof mounted screen for visuals, new lights and a kicking soundsystem, housed in adjoining mini-sheds. You can still smell the creosote!

“I was reviewing the bands at Latitude on Friday and Saturday for the Guardian but I thought the best thing all weekend was the disco shed!”
Paul Lester (The Guardian)

Completely mobile and needing only a power source, the Disco Shed takes the best elements of modern clubbing but disguises it amongst all the stuff you‘d find in your Dad’s old shed, to make a truly unique entertainment space and novel curiosity, guaranteed to intrigue & interest, amuse & amaze at all times. Kids love hanging out and playing swingball outside it in the afternoons, grown-ups fall in love with its harvest gold contours when the sun goes down. There's a massive screen on the roof for visuals and a smoke machine so powerful it's set the Herefordshire Fire Services on high alert. Best of all, the Disco Shed DJs really know how to throw a party.

"I love the Disco Shed - it works really well" Tanya Harrison, Latitude Festival curator

The Disco Shedonists are well-seasoned in serving up a unique, accessible and fantastic atmosphere at all kinds of events. They look forward to seeing you in a field, soon!

"Love the Disco Shed - they are part of our family" Hugh Phillimore, Cornbury Festival organiser
