“One of the less chilled things happening at the Big Chill festival in the UK this weekend was the Disco Shed. Pitched up in the middle of the site by Oxford based DJ's Peepshow Paddy and Skylarkin. They entertained people with low key DJ sets during the day; supplying deckchairs, a gazebo and lo-fi TV/video players with Jane Fonda work out videos for mass aerobic sessions.
When the club tents and stages closed down on the last night, all those who just didn't want to believe the festival was about to end migrated to the shed for an impromptu rave, cut short only for security reasons.
You can give people well organized festivals but it's this kind of magic that will stick.”

On any given day you'll hear soul, funk, reggae, house, techno, punk, breaks, electro, indie, rock & roll, rhythm & blues, ska, latin, hiphop, dubstep, drum & bass, dancehall, and of course disco pumping out of the Disco Shed. There is no defined music policy the emphasis is on quality alone and our DJs play all sorts of music, often in the same set!

The Disco Shed is festival-lands must-have accessory! Having rocked the allotments for years at The Big Chill, Latitude, Thames Festival, Beachdown, Reading, Cornbury, Truck and countless others, founding shedonists Peepshow Paddy and Count Skylarkin have built a brand-new, souped up shed for summer 2011 - complete with an 8'x6' roof mounted screen for visuals, new lights and a kicking soundsystem, housed in adjoining mini-sheds. You can still smell the creosote!
I was reviewing the bands at Latitude on Friday and Saturday for the Guardian but I thought the best thing all weekend was the disco shed!

Completely mobile and needing only a power source, the Disco Shed takes the best elements of modern clubbing but disguises it amongst all the stuff youd find in your Dads old shed, to make a truly unique entertainment space and novel curiosity, guaranteed to intrigue & interest, amuse & amaze at all times. Kids love hanging out and playing swingball outside it in the afternoons, grown-ups fall in love with its harvest gold contours when the sun goes down. There's a massive screen on the roof for visuals and a smoke machine so powerful it's set the Herefordshire Fire Services on high alert. Best of all, the Disco Shed DJs really know how to throw a party.
